Ahead of his performance at the Closing Ceremony of Rugby World Cup 2023, which comes live from the Stade de France, Paris before the Rugby World Cup Final between New Zealand and South Africa, Big Jim Hamilton sits down for a feature interview with pop icon Mika.

The two discuss his career, why he views being able to play sport is a superpower he wishes he had and how he looks to the likes of Tame Impala, Drake and Gregory Porter for musical inspiration. Mika also gives an insight into the staging that will happen for his performance and why he was keen to get involved in the closing ceremony.

  • What's really beautiful about this conversation is the synergy between what superficially one would think are two diametrically opposed images of masculinity. As teenagers, it's not hard to image that boys emboding similar traits of these two gentlemen would think they have nothing in common, but as they hit their fifth decade on this planet and, having grown more comfortable in each of their own skins, find out they share more than they would've ever thought back then when the world was more of a black and white binary instead of shades of grey.

    This kids chorus mutch better then an tape and its great. children its future of rugby and sports. Its normal not all going perfect at first singing at an stadium with fhousans and echo.

    Be open to sky,earth,univers,god,or spirituality of course its good. Not important to what - its all the same. Showing and getting inspiration, kindness and strengt. Enjoy anthem even sounds not perfect its the spirit of getting it.
