Modern Console Table // Floating Console Table // Console Table How To ...In this video, I build a floating modern console table out of solid white oak. Despite it’s simple look, this cabinet required quite a bit of extra work to take into account wood movement in the 4 continuous grain doors. The waterfall joinery of this console table has the grain flowing across the top and down each side for a seamless look. The push-to-open mechanisms eliminate the need for any hardware and give this console table a clean and modern look. Let me know what you think in the comments below! So I’m looking at this amazing build and saying to myself, I’ve got that tool, that machine and that machine so yeah, I can do this. Then I went to my drawer of skill and knowledge and realised how empty it was. I mean it echoes in there. Probably should have invested in the tool between my ears first. 😛
  • Whenever I get too chummy about my wood working abilities I just watch this video and am quickly brought back down to earth...
  • @fedotyk
First minute explained everything I was looking for. But let's continue watching - there is more gold in there!

Easily one of my top 3 favorite woodworking channels. Love this piece!
  • @Simonfrios
Excellent work as always Keith. You're an inspiration.
  • This video was incredibly impressive. So much knowledge and skill, and better yet you share it all without hesitation. I've been making furniture for almost 4 years and learned a few great things in this. Thank you!
  • Yay! This started my Saturday morning off right! Also, nice custom ground dovetail table saw blade, Mr. Pekovich!

Keith, you inspire me to get back into woodworking. After we had our first son years back I just never had time to go down into my workshop. Then we moved and I sold all my woodworking tools. But now that my kids are older and I have more free time, watching your videos makes me want to create again. Thanks so much.
  • Wow! I’ve been working with wood for a few years now, but I don’t think I’ll reach your skill level. I am amazed at what you do with wood. And I love your wit and humor that goes along with it. I’m so glad you are putting videos out again. I really missed them when you took that break. You are my top three YouTubers.

Very nice build, especially the door expansion detailing. I've been wondering how to do this the right way for solid wood doors, now I know. Thanks.
  • @lukemartin9037
Keith you've done it again! Your repair skills are inspiring and this was a very motivating video!
  • @OneDSystems
I think it is lovely how much care and passion for detail you put in your work. Congratulations!

Another awesome job Keith. It's always a pleasure watching a true Craftsman.
  • @Dresden76
This is probably my favorite of your videos. The segment about the batten and expansion was great. I’m also intrigued by the L-fence.
  • @Holzy09
I've been following along with your Instagram stories this year, and the video is great, but I'm glad I followed live. Seeing you react and just solve all the issues as you went was just inspiring to see. Never any real panic, just smart, clever and well executed ideas with great skill. Thanks for sharing!
  • @zachmathew4320
Looks amazing. Thanks for explaining the details of how you dealt with the solid wood doors. Really useful info.
  • @RobbieBolog
You’re a crazy talented dude, Keith. Thanks for sharing the process with us plebs.
  • Keith, another great video. Love the combination of humor and great craftsmanship. I always learn something from your videos. Can't wait until the next one comes out.
  • @shmiggz
Awesome job! Also, I finally get to see what rubio natural looks like on white oak...and it looks great.
