My opinion on the best lift/tire setups for your specific Jeep needs. These are strictly my opinions on what work best for a Jeep TJ, but many different set-ups can be used.

  • I have 31 inch tires on my stock TJ and they fit great. I do plan to lift it 4". Nice Jeep you got there.

Thanks for the honest answers. A lot of people think bigger is better no matter what.

I have a stock 2000 wrangler and now I'm thinking about treating myself in getting a lift kit. I don't know anything about lifts. I'm educating myself before I make my decision on how High I want to lift it and also be well informed before I talk to a sales tech, so I don't get taken advantage of. So this video was very informative and easy to understand. Thank you for the info.

As your jeep grows in height more improvements become the norm. Rock rails with steps help with entry, telescoping drive lines with cv joints to correct drive line issues. It's like playing chess, if you make one change one component, how will it effect something else. Improved exhaust and intake systems can help regain some hp. For newcomers I recommend you watch this video more than once, it's a good one to get you started. Don't be in a hurry, you have experience to gain, have fun, be safe and take lots of photos.

I'm sitting on 3 inch lift with 33s and running 373 gears with a 5 speed manual trans. Wish I could get it regeared. That's about 2 years out before I can do it. Thanks for the video and the info. Helps the average Joe out on deciding what to upgrade and what not to
  • Love the color. I have an 03 rubicon 4” lift on 33’s does real good off-road. Finally got a trailer to haul it on to keep excess miles off it. (It has 37,000 on it) I went with all curry lift for their adjustability. Great video

I used to have an 01 TJ with a 4” lift and 33x12.5r15 Mickey Thompson Baja Claw MTZ tires. My Jeep was a 4.0 5 speed and had 4.88 gears. It was very solid on the highway at 70mph, and was fantastic off road. I had plenty of articulation with the 33” tires and the 4” lift.

I just bought a 2001 TJ on 35s with a 3” body lift! Drives good on the road other than some shifting issues that I’m trying to figure out (popping out of 3rd & 5th gear when I let off the gas).
  • in running the metal cloak game changer with fox 2.0 ifp's on 33 inch km3's and I love it!

Good video. I am running a 4" lift, 35's and bushwacker flat flares. Let me know if the steering improves on yours after adding the Currie setup.

I'm running 3" Zone springs, Savvy short arms, 1.25" BL, highline fenders, JKR Axles, 4.88s, and 37s.
  • I have a 97 Jeep Wrangler TJ with a 4 inch rock crawler left I’m needing to replace my control arms all the way around steering stabilizer rear track bar and good shocks what would you recommend do some off routing and drive it most of the year
  • Thanks for this awesome video, it cleared the air on a bunch of stuff I've been hearing, I have one question and it's on wheel spacers, opinion on those, are they just a fad for pavement ponies or actually useful. I'm new to the whole off road scene and just wanted to know before I waste more money

I have a lj with a rooftop tent. On a 2.5 suspension lift. Everyone tells me to go to a 4inch lift w my 33s. I can’t figure out if a 3 inch would be better for the hwy drive and roof top tent or just go teraflex 3inch lift. Do you have a opinion? Will that one inch make a difference in handling ?
