Here is a tip:. If Chelsea didn't buy a whole high school of players, and put them on 8 year long contracts, maybe they wouldn't have to sell their better academy players.
  • @bryguy572
I don't agree with Maresca when he was quoted as saying it's a Premier League problem in regards to selling their acedmy players. Chelsea are compelled to sell off their academy players because they must sell them in order to balance books due to the incredible spending the team has done. If they weren't spending so much they wouldn't need to sell their academy players.
  • This chap has been moaning about Chelsea for months, concentrate on defending his own team City when their case comes to court
  • @hustleup3840
This guys life mission is to protect Man City. Complete hack, get him off the radio
  • @ErlendFlatin
If you don't want to sell your academy players then STOP SPENDING A FORTUNE ON PLAYERS AND GIVING THEM EXTRA LONG CONTRACTS THAT WILL PUT YOU AT A MASSIVE LOSS AT THE START OF EACH YEAR
  • So Gallagher seems to be a Zidane regen, all this funfare for an average player. Give him a medal for heart and effort, that's it.
  • @Rayado_26
The problem is not the rules, but overspending. And Gallagher is not a world beater but, the way the situation is being handled. By not letting him fight for a place on the first team.
  • This man is here again after Boehly did a smart one on him😂😂
  • The most interesting thing about this video was watching Troy prepare his cup of tea!

Rules are fine if you follow them. Spurs academy won everything last season and they have no issues with PSR. So saying everyone is doing it in the prem is wrong
  • No it's not a rules problem, no other club has sold the amount of academy players that Chelsea have. Completely agree with Borson here, it's bad financial management from Chelsea. Spending on unnecessary youngsters and teenagers instead of nurturing academy players is juts nuts.
  • Another unimaginative bean counter. He admitted during today's show that he takes no risk which, in my world, means he lacks the understanding of taking risk. Lastly, he's absolutely guessing Chelsea's wage bill, when it's somewhat obvious the contracts are well-structured.

The thing Chelsea’s owners are missing when it comes to flipping young players is they have to actually put them in a situation where they can showcase their skills on winning teams. City can flip Alvarez for what they’re getting because he’s shown enough on City and internationally for other clubs to feel he’s worth almost $100mil. Buying young players that never get to showcase their skills on a winning Chelsea team isn’t going to raise their value.

Borson is right and is backed by facts. MacAnthony is relying on what the agents tell him (oh dear). And for the Chelsea coach to say all EPL clubs are having to sell their Academy players to comply with PSR is just not true - other clubs choose not to overspend beyond their means and some, like Brentford, don't even have an Academy.
  • @frglrk
They’re not really damaging academies - what’s damaging academies is the financial situation that the clubs are putting themselves in and then using academy players as loopholes
  • None of it is 'compulsory', the issue is fans want new players and managers ego's generally mean they want to bring in players to 'fit' their system. If they believe those players are better than the academy players then that's an academy issue but most of the time it's because they want to put their own stamp on the team and it generates excitement.
