Some pieces of dialogue are dynamic. They can change depending on what you have done, or what has happened so far.

This is one of many videos in my Ghost of Tsushima Facts series, where I explore details, glitches, and secrets about the game.

"Ghost of Tsushima" is the property of Sucker Punch Productions and Sony Corporation. I do not own or claim to own any part of this game.

EXTRA NOTES 1) This video is related to a previous one. If you want to see more dialogue that changes depending on where you are in the story, you may press this link: https://youtu.be/9ZHsgHQJXxQ 2) I have received frequent redundant questions about the location of the last segment of the video, where Yarikawa swordsmen try to ambush Jin. It is located in Old Yarikawa, not far from where you learn the Dance of Wrath. 3) Many commenters mentioned the seeming error of Jin and The Eagle's first interaction, where Jin claims Khotun Khan is dead despite the player only being in Act 2. I do not find this to be an error at all. Jin is bluffing. He is trying to scare The Eagle into releasing him by telling lies. He also claims "a thousand samurai will come" but that is an obvious lie. Depending on when you start Iki, Jin either lies twice, or says one truth and one lie; but in any case, Jin's sentence will work whenever the player starts Iki. 4) Thank you to J M and King Shibe for commenting on the earlier video. I have included what they have written here. I would also like to thank @mugihoujicha on Twitter for finding the dynamic dialogue with the poet in Hiyoshi Springs. I would not have found nor recorded this without them.

We get it, his uncle was a good character SKILLED IN THE ART OF COMBAT AND POETRY
  • “Skilled in the art of combat, and poetry” gives me “immune to all threats, physical or magical.” Vibes 😂
  • @EAS1513
Also if anyone didn’t notice when you wear Sakai armor in that cave where you learn about the horse armor on Iki island everyone runs away and hides, so you have to switch armor to hear the story, I thought that was cool
  • @Valisea
Skilled in the art of combat, and poetry
  • @ryanjohnson781
Yea I really liked the changed dialogue for the straw hat duels. If you fight some or all of them before doing the mythic tale, Jin has different responses when hearing the tale
  • @sameer6948
One thing we know about Lord Shimura- HE WAS SKILLED IN THE ART OF COMBAT AND POETRY
  • @Montesama314
"Don't let him stab you in the back!" Parried, gets slashed in the front
  • @thephoenix8892
Technically not a dialogue change but a really cool interaction on Iki is if you wear the Sakai Clan armor when going into the survivor camp that tells the tale of Kazumasa Sakai, all the villagers will run away and you won’t be able to do the quest until you take off the armor

Fun Fact: Lord Shimura was a great man. Skilled in the art of combat, and poetry.
  • Their is a extra dialogue when you doing the Yarikawa quest. When Jin says to let the mongols pass. You can charge at them and you will get extra dialogue.
  • @user-gz1gw3pf6h
Either choice is just tragic, man. Jin was such a good person, caught between a rock and a hard place.
  • @jwfanatic
For some reason I have a feeling that Shimura is skilled in the art of combat, and poetry
  • @stubbsiren4368
Btw, when you completed the story and have started on the proud do not endure, Jin will tell yuriko that his clan is no more, he tries to tell as wel that lord shimura has died (if you have chosen the option to kill him) but yuriko interrupts him
  • @kpyt7647
Dang, I was hoping for a dialogue when you meet Lord Shimura while wearing the Mongol Commander Armour...
  • @moody1320
didn't know he was skilled in the art of combat AND poetry

These dynamic dialogues are what makes the game, play smooth. There's only 1 instance when they kind of forgot about it I think, which is when you travel with Kenji to the Viper's Den in Iki island, even if you chose the kill ending, Jin says, "Lord Shimura's been hunting the Viper for years", implying he's still hunting him, aka, he's still alive, instead he should've said something like, "Lord Shimura had been hunting the Viper for years". which would've made sense since it implies that the hunt was ongoing in the past, but it has stopped now (Coz Lord Shimura is dead now).
  • @Apudurangdinya
I was kinda hoping the game would have honor system with how you approached enemy, like stealth decreases it while sticking with samurai code increases it, bc the game kinda imply you having a choice to be honorable or not throughout the game, but later i found out you became ghost anyway
  • Glad to see I’m not the only one who will now hear “and poetry” in my sleep tonight
  • Didn't know these things exist. I wore that clan armor when meeting the uncle, it's the first armor I wanted to wear since saw it in Jin memories with his father.
