  • Watching the video now. I was so proud to have worked for Floyd Jones and to be part of the program. Great video. Thank you all for posting and keeping the SR-71 a living legend. Habu!

I ate up every second of this video. It was so cool the pilot passing his knowledge to the young person wanting to enlist. Saying he was essentially a nobody who made the right choices in his life to be living proof anything is possible. Amazing

Fun fact: the photo at 31:00 was taken by my wife's late father, Judson Brohmer (RIP). It has always been my absolute favorite photo of the SR, even though it is just the trainer model. Clearly this was taken right after disconnect. He used raw film cameras back then. Such a great shot. He may have taken some of the other ones, such as the inverted shot over the tanker and maybe some of the shots on the ground, but I'd have to do some more homework to confirm. After his accident, his widow and children put together a book called "Breaking Free." I'm sure it has the collection of all of the SR shots.

Loved it! Thank You, to these courageous men and to all those who contributed to defending this nation against the violent, depraved dictators and threats of the 20th century.
  • Thank you very much for sharing these great videos. Enjoying them from Spain.

Great talk and stories! But come on A/V crew...change the batteries, scan the open frequencies, and ring out the PA! Add some CTO to the lights (too bright), and white balance the cameras. Not that hard. These old guys in the SR program are ALL just amazing as hell, they are so awesome.q

This is the missing link vid for us SR junkies!😊
  • I’m wondering about how much live communication they had with base’s. I’m sure that they could communicate with other aircraft as they needed to refuel from a tanker.
  • I meet these gentlemen back in August. And learned so much about this incredible aircraft. So sad that politics and a jealous general ended this unique aircraft flying days.
