Jackfruit and durian is different. Its especially common here in Malaysia and known as the king of fruits. Durian is more round and sweet and has a slight bitter after taste, usually. ( like yours ) . People use cleavers and break it down the middle and use safe gloves of a sort to protect from the spikes. And to be very honest, YOUR durian inside looked kinda rotten a bit because it usually isnt brown pith on the inside. Jackfruit is more oblong , and the flesh looks kinda meaty sometimes like if pulled apart it looks like pulled pork. ( people like to use under ripe jackfruit as a meat substitute if im not mistaken )
