Giving an old piece of furniture a new life is a really satisfying thing to do, repairing joinery created by a craftsman decades ago is a real compliment and sign of respect to the lost crafts and to that craftsman congratulations

Nice work, I like that you left the wear on the piece, thats its history which should never be lost, one suggestion is to put glass on the top to protect the map

I can understand the temptation to use the dolly as a skateboard! You stayed on it longer than I could have. You’re going to love having that laser. The map was an excellent way to showcase its capabilities. I love the finish on the desk. It enhances the wood grain without changing the color of the wood.

It turned out really nice! I think the drawer handles are upside down… but, I guess it’s a matter of personal preference. Always enjoy watching your videos!

Beautiful restoration! Attention, from the felt you see this may have been a writing desk with a reversible insert. On a lot of these old desks you could flip the writing surface. One side bare wood, the other side was topped with thick cardboard and felt for better writing. Cheers! 😄
