What time zones do you need ? Russia: All of them China: Only one Spain: Whatever Germany is having.

"why is spain one hour ahead?" "because he said so"

Because of time zones, a person can actually be older the someone who is older than them, or younger than someone who is younger than them. Time zones are weird.

This literally confirms that concept that time isn’t real it’s a measurement.

Whenever i travel from New Zealand to the USA It always feels so weird to leave in the morning, travel for 20 hours and arrive the same morning. It’s like time travel
  • When I flew from Australia to the USA for the first time concious of the long flying time I asked the travel agent for the quickest flight possible. She replied, "You are going to arrive before you leave. Is that quick enough for you?"
  • Imagine yourself sailing a ship in the Pacific Ocean, in 31/12/2020 and as you move too the left you celebrate new year 2021 and after a few hours you go back to 2020! It literally makes no sence.

The strangest for me is the stark difference between Russia's ELEVEN time zones vs China's singular time zone. Even more so because they are both centralized civilization states that share several longitudes.

We live in a world where politics is the reason why we don’t have the perfect 24 hour clock timezone

Curvature of the Earth: exists Time zones: now it’s time to get funky

Doctor: “You have 3 hours to live. What are you going to do? Me: “Travel to China so I can live for 25 hours.”

Newfoundland time is a half hour time zone. If it's 6:30 in NFLD, it's 6:00 in the rest of Atlantic Canada, including most of Labrador. St Pierre et Miquelon, the French islands to the south of Newfoundland, are an hour ahead of Atlantic time. This means that, even though a lot of the island of Newfoundland extends further east than St Pierre, the French islands are still a half hour ahead.

I'm surprised you didn't mention the Canadian province of Newfoundland and Labrador. We are half an hour ahead of the Atlantic time zone, but if you travel west to the tiny island of St. Pierre they are another half an hour head in time.

It's true about Samoa and American Samoa I stayed there for a while and it was weird to think that that both countries were watching the same sunset at the same time but on different days.

I remember a trip we took from Honolulu to Nadi. We left Hawaii on Sunday night and landed in Fiji Tuesday morning. Then, that Friday evening we departed Fiji and arrived back in Honolulu the same day, Friday morning. That day happened to also be my birthday, which somehow made it that much more fun! There was little to no jet lag (other than flying redeye both ways) because there are only 2 hours difference between the two locations - it’s the day that changes.

The worst part about Spain is that it follows the daylight savings time. That means on spring and summer we are actually 2 hours ahead from UK.
