  • Hey! A lot of you guys commented that you picked up Sea of Thieves after watching my videos and were asking for some Beginner Tips. Well, here you go! My best shot at a Sea of Thieves Beginner's Guide; I hope it helps!
  • I was a bit worried about the community after reading some reviews. I bought the game two days ago, and have only had good experiences with other people. Someone helped me with the Kraken, I was boarded by someone and the left me a chest, and I had people come to my aid when I ran into an explosive barrel. This game has been nothing but fun, and you made it better.
  • My tips I used to give when teaching new players: 1. Learn how to hold block, then simultaneously hold sword charge, then release both and jump to do the sword dash jump, this is the best way to jump off an island and get to your boat in seconds. 2. Whenever you stop at an island have your anchor lifted and sails lifted so if you spot someone coming your way fast u can sword jump on and drop sails and start getting away, solo players have a tough time solo raising anchor. 3. If you are seeing other ships, visiting ones other players were just at., or heading in the path of one, repeatedly check the front of your ship for someone in the water, or one on an island nearby waiting for you to stop. 4. If you think someone might've snuck on board, run around and basically slash every brown barrel or dark area of the ship in case they are "tucked" there, which means they are basically emoted in the spot. 5. If you are running from other players go into the wind, it has been proven that facing the wind is fastest on the smallest ship, but at the end of the day until you have more experience, as a solo player you won't outrun a galleon of experienced players. 6. I know he says in the video lights aren't too big of a deal because a good player will still spot you... this is kind of true, in the past there have been issues with render distance where players hide on other sides of islands their lights still show for enemies because the island hasn't rendered in yet, only lights you ever want on are belowdecks ones. 7. Keep loot down below, never store treasure on your deck, it will shine to other players, also if u have skulls, on the bottom floor of your sloop, there is a barrel in the center, but them on that barrel, if you put them on the bottom floor the green will glow outside the boat making it obvious you have valuables hidden inside. Bonus Tips: If you are feeling good about your skill, keep kegs in the crow's nest (they can be found at any Fort, just look out for a skull in the sky), that way if an enemy galleon or brig comes after you, you can drop the kegs off of the back of your boat in the hope they run them over, this can be dangerous because if a player hits the deck of your boat with a fire bomb then it will set off kegs in the crow's nest. Try to find friends whether it's the craziness of open queue or via a discord, having other players with you will teach you a lot of the ins and outs of the game. Google videos for "Best Tuck Spots on sloops" , which will help you identify if someone has snuck on your boat. If you are a solo console player id recommend going to settings and turning off crossplay, whilst console newbies are the most fun to mess with for PC players it is significantly more difficulty to sword-fight PC players because we can basically keep jumping over your head faster than your remote can turn. If you are in fog and can't find other players or something else point the cannon straight up and shoot yourself out of it , it puts you above the fog and you can see everything, just get to a mermaid asap once you hit the water again. You can harpoon the Megalodon when its at the front of your ship for its first passby to snag a ride, it will go way faster than wind will and it usually goes straight for at least a little bit. If you are unlucky enough to be faced with a galleon or brig that is trying to broadside you, you can try to do what he does in the video and hit whoever on their cannons and knock out sails, another good one is hitting them with fireballs, the bigger the ship, the more annoying fire is to put out due to the layers, so they have to decide on neglecting it and letting it spread or getting off the cannons. LASTLY, If your enemy is dressed in all black, or has any sort of ghostly glowing green on them.... run, get the hell out of wherever you are, because you have a 70/30 chance they are either experienced pirates ready to take everything you have or they are actually really nice and helpful and will try to show you parts of the game. and them being nice is rare usually.

Even though I’m a veteran Sea of Thieves player, I did enjoy watching this video because it is helpful AND tells a story, which is something not many other content creators can do. I’ll definitely tell someone to watch it if they need tips. Also, congrats on the 100k Cliff!
  • I’ll definitely keep this video in mind to send to my friends who get into the game. I keep getting more of my friends into this wonderful game.

For enemy types there are several other ones with their own quirks Normal skeletons: Attack them in any way you want they dont have any quirks Broken Skeletons: same as normal but way weaker they will die in like 3 sword hits Shadow skeletons: Can be killed in daylight but shine a lantern on them when its night when invincible you will notice they are kinda seethrough and you can go through them Gold skeletons: throw a bucket of water on them or lead them to water and then shoot them, they are way slower than other types so you can easily throw a firebomb at them Plant skellies: slash them with your sword guns dont work as well on them, they also regenerate health in water/rain FOTD Skeletons: You wont have to worry about those unless you are on a specific island and a specific player activated even is taking place they are same as shadow skellies but you have to shine specific light color on them depending on their own color SPECIAL SKELLY: The ancient skeleton: this one very rarrely spawns on any island and gives you ancient coin, a currency you can only get from buying it with real money or getting them from the plunder pass you are at you will notice this sound of something going out of the ground and a noise similar to coins being shaken, locate this skeleton quickly (he is gold and blue and has a bag on his back) and attack it, the skellly will try to run away if it runs away for some amount of time it will go into the ground and disappear so quickly kill it, there are some other skeletons that are just reskins of the standard white skeletons like white skeletons with some glowing bits There are boss skeletons like the captains having just higher health having a name and captain clothes and there are the skeleton lord/ashen lords which are actual bosses with multiple special attacks, really high health and more
  • Good newbie tip is save your empty chests if you plan on playing for a long time. You can put all your loot in the chests and keep them on the front tip of your ship when you dock land near the vendors and then just drop the chests first then start selling the items. You can put the same 3 types of items in a chest and carry to specific vendors and sell all 3 at once. Saves alot of time imo.
  • I've been solo slooping for my entire time on the seas, and recently another friend got the game, so this'll be super helpful for him. Thanks Cliff!
  • @Bonborblx

  • Dude u are by far one of the best sot content creators. Appreciate what u do, even for us veterans who have 900 hours in game it's nice to see someone enjoying the game while trying to help others.
  • I love this, super simple to follow, and again, love the storytelling type that you keep producing, keep up the awesome job!
  • @alexavocadooo
Finished a session where me and my crew decided to use everything you said here instead of going on our regular route of doing world events or talk tales constantly it felt nice to feel new again I showed this to my younger brother and he was able to tag along and understand what he was doing. Love the content btw 👍

  • @lynic-0091
I've tried to get into this game so many times already, but now that I actually have some basic knowledge, and watching your story in this video, I'm a hell lot more hyped!
  • I’ve spent about 200ish hours on SoT and basically know all there is to know but just watched your video for fun and learned you can hit a harpoon with your sword to drop a piece of loot that you harpooned, keep up the great content!
  • Wow, this video was very good and somehow more interesting! Great job dude! Keep it up and your legacy shall be remembered👍
