What's your favourite travel outfit? Will you be travelling this summer?
  • @sallyb7472
Solid bottoms and patterned and/or solid tops.

So glad you did this video. I use packing cubes and fill each cube with an entire outfit including belt, scarf and even accessories. I put a label on each cube that lists the day of the week, the time of day, etc. if I am repeating certain pieces, I still put the item on the inventory list and move them forward to the new cube when I take it off after the first wearing. Clothes I’m not repeating that need to be laundered go into a laundry bag. By the time I come home everything has been moved to the laundry bag. It makes unpacking easy too. I also have “fake” jewelry that I only use when I travel. I leave these in my suitcase for the next trip.

Bless you this was wonderful and so helpful! All the verbal explanations and the still photos of each part and modeling of the outfits make it so understandable! Cant wait fir my next weekend trip to use your ideas
  • I hope you at least had fun shopping for that winter coat in New York! Stretchy black pants are my "must have" for my days of actual travel. I take a lot of black and white tops and like to add colorful scarves or jewelry. On a trip a few years ago to Paris, I took some very low heeled black ankle boots that I loved and had worn often, but I failed to take into account that my feel would probably swell quite a bit in hot weather while walking. Lesson learned the hard way. I wore my real walking shoes for the rest of the trip!
  • Love this capsule idea!! Using what I have helps the budget. I love clothes and like dressing up.over the decades, I have bought scarves that brighten up a basic color palette. I am ‘Autumn’ coloring: browns, golds, greens, ivory or tan. I cannot wear white. It washes me out. But having capsules of clothing helps define my closet better. I had rather have fewer items and better quality. Buthelezi in garments and shoes/handbag category. Pat in Colorado

I wear black pants, a turtleneck, a cashmere sweater, comfy slip on booties, and a jacket or coat. I have a scarf. I have a decent purse as my Nordace backpack. I also wear my compression socks for my travel days. I got a good carry on. Non wrinkle stuff and I use the cubes. Good advice! Shoes….a pair of dressier but light ones and something good for walking! I pack and repack to remove extras. Mix and match! I do plan and check out the weather! Good idea to do a travel video as we are starting to travel again!

Loved, loved, loved this video!!! Thank you Sheila. I always learn something new with you, please keep it up girl!!!

Outstanding video Sheila. Have played it twice already, and it may not be the last. There's often a temptation to overpack, adding items at the last minute, just in case."Just in case" mostly doesn't happen so these hitch-hiker garments return home unloved. My mode of transport to and from the holiday is a factor. Am amazed how compact and practical a holiday capsule is if it needs to fit in an overhead locker, whereas a road trip has the potential to expand! I had an epiphany on a multi-day hiking trip in my 40s, when I realized I had a house full of things back home, but all I needed for my survival was in my backpack. Not that it translates into other holidays - haha - when it's fun to draw up a packing list for events and activities on the itinerary. I love the capsule you have showcased today.
  • Great capsule! The only thing I would add is a bathing suit and a workout outfit if you're staying at a hotel that has a pool and gym.
  • @clgrant2043
Hi Sheila, well said!! This will come in handy for me as I always overpack and bring home many items unworn. Love your outfits, perfect colors! Looking forward to the next video!
  • Solids go a long way when traveling! And the packable jacket either for warmth or rainy weather is must for any season when traveling. My go to is always pack items you can layer, weather can be so unpredictable. I like to carry a tote that zips, I speak from experience 😊
  • I always choose a color palate that mix and matches when we travel. Black, white, and usually blue or pink. My travel outfit is usually loose, soft cotton pants, a comfy shirt, and a jacket or sweater. Also I have 2 scarves that I take. I had to laugh when you said you were wrong about the San Francisco weather because the same thing happened to us. My husband is from the Bay Area so he knew it would be cold in June but I had no idea. I ended up freezing and buying a jacket that I still have lol.
