Pete Waterman’s World Record beating Train Set!, CAB ride.

The scenic sections total 260 feet and there’s an equally large fiddle yard to get you back to the beginning.
This was early Saturday morning before the exhibition opened. The layout was still being commissioned. It was difficult enough just maintain track power as people were working on the layout at the same time.
A fast train takes about 5 minutes to travel the scenic sections, not bad for what is largely a straight line.

I went to Model World Live on day 2 (Sunday). I got to meet Pete Waterman and get a selfie with him. What an amazing achievement Pete and crew... many congrats 👍

Well done Pete and his volunteers for a remarkable layout and achievement

This looks really like a 1:1 cab ride, no shortcuts in track layout due to space constraint, all is scaled down from the real track alignment. A quick calculation shows that 6 kilometers / 3,75 miles of real railway is modelled in the scenic section here and the train is doing a scale 72 km/h or 45 mph . Impressive!

Such an excellent job, the people almost looked like giants since the set was so realistic!

The length of that track, and attention to detail of the shrubbery etc, is absolutely unreal! Well done, to all involved with this amazing feat. 👍

Tremendous effort, I can even recognise the rugby grade separation near the end (my childhood station). My cousin would love this, he has modelled rugby station himself. Massive respect to all

Absolutely fantastic! I couldn't believe how long that journey was. So much work and so much effort. A world record richly deserved!

Brilliant and the giant signs of the Food Bar and locomotive. So realistic.

Mindblowing! I thought this layout was immense when I saw it in Chester a few years ago. Looks like it's been extended considerably since then! Spent many a day spotting at MK Central (and Wolverton) as a kid, so that bit was cool and a bit nostalgic. Can't imagine how much dosh Pete has put into this but it is truly an incredible labor of love, and a pat on the back for the many hands and brains needed to set up and run this monster is much deserved!

Own up, who was slightly disappointed the tunnels weren't fully lined as exposed rock effect and looked damp. Well done all. Great layout
-
Congratulations for creating such a world record model railway. That was a fabulous ride.
-
Absolutely smooth track and straight as an arrow when called for. Excellent video thanks

Apart from the massive size I am really impressed with the catenary, the masts seem the correct distance apart and it zig zags like the prototype.
-
Wonderful layout, very atmospheric and realistic!

That was well trippy. It's like you're going at 70mph then you see man walking next to you.

Great video Dave, and a great effort by the team to achieve a World Record 👏👏👏
