Yuko deadass hit her with the "Hey we cool don't come to school tomorrow."

Yuko caught me off guard here. Her face is so calm while the chapter slowly tells you that she's gone nuts.
  • The way Fujimoto does panels with no dialogue is awesome and seeing "don't come to school tomorrow" had me cracking up hard lul
  • Yuko asking her about secrets so that she could read her mind is scary . She's twisted, love the character
  • Just when we thought Yuko was too good to be true. Asa just doesn't know that people as stupid as Denji exist. Fujimoto obviously wants to do more with Youru and Asa's relationship. I really like that the war devil has the same appeal as Sukuna possessing Yuji.

We went from a chapter that was comedy gold, to the setup of a horror movie

Leave it to Fujimoto to pull a complete 180° on a seemingly wholesome chapter, and I fall for it Every. Single. Time.
  • I feel this chapter is the definition of why I love CSM. Easing you in with catching your expectations for a loop, the randomness of it genius, it is unnerving on purpose making you feel a weird atmosphere throughout the entire chapter. The structure of the events and dialogues specifically is really something, it heavily relies on making the reader uncomfortable with what's gonna happen next in a good way. You know a Mangaka is confident in their vibe and show-not-tell when they don't need to spam speech bubbles on every panel and give breathing room letting you take things in. Also Fujimoto really went "there" at the end of the chapter 💀, which is hilarious because it's the literal translation in Japanese too... That dude is memeing on us for real, for real.

The child metaphor for Yoru is actually very fitting. Her throwing a tantrum for getting saved by chainsaw and assertively stating she isn't dumb is very childish. That could also explain her dislike for Chainsaw man more ,maybe its not the complex reason of him eating part of her ans making her fear getting forgotten but a simple reason Chainsaw man stole nuklearen weapons form her and it being her favorite toy
  • @Shikasso
I'm sure Asa 'sweated' when there was a 'wanna see' out of nowhere 💀

When this gets adapted, they'll play "Pumped Up Kicks" as background music.

I just loved the retreat of light from Yuko once she said she killed someone. It begins with the double spread and by the end of the chapter they're both in the shadows. A simple yet effective way to convey foreboding fear. Fujimoto's inner cinephile just oozing out

Moral of the chapter: every woman in Denji's life wants to kill him
  • Yeah, now her whole analogy of "as long as I believe I'm doing right, that's all that matters to me" analogy is no longer looked upon with happiness for asa since this exact statement is what made her feel better before. Now fujimoto twisted something so encouraging for asa and turned it into something evil. I love this chapter, can't wait for more.

Yoru really went from intimidating and dominant to adorable and throwing fits and I’m all for it

What I love about this chapter is that for most of their conversation you see a close up of Asa and Yuko, but as soon as Yuko reveals that she killed someone, you suddenly see a very prominent door between them. We've been conditioned to correlate doors with an ominous feeling throughout part 1. (Denji's mental door symbolizing his repressed memories, the Gun devil door scene, the Power door scene, the doors in hell) Really adds to the discomfort.
  • The best decision you ever made was when you started adding funny cat pictures to the videos. It is hillarious.

It's devastating to see how quickly someone in the CSM universe can fall. In one chapter she goes from a fun-loving person trying to be a good friend to being mentally broken and forming a contract with a devil. It says a lot about Denji's mental fortitude and Makima's manipulation when looking back on how much torment it took for Denji to break down. Compared to how a normal person after one encounter with a devil can become so broken.

Watching asas face slowly change ever so slightly was absolutely amazing and shows how much fujimoto has grown since the one shots. I re read that two pages of there conversation over and over again. Just blown away that I had never read anything like it before. Masterclass manga
