CNN Fires News Anchor Don Lemon After 17 Years

Veteran news anchor Don Lemon was stunned after learning CNN fired him. "After 17 years at CNN, I would have thought that someone in management would have had the decency to tell me directly," Lemon tweeted. However, CNN fired back at the popular journalist, calling his statement inaccurate. They say Lemon was offered an opportunity to meet with management but released a Twitter statement instead. Inside Edition’s Jim Moret has more.

Our modern world of 24 hours news and information. I miss my childhood when news anchors only had 30 minutes to report the facts, not their opinions.

Can’t believe how easily it is to fire someone in America. They can dispose of you like trash. Lesson here is don’t ever put your job first as loyalty is definitely not reciprocated.

I’m not on either side of this situation. But the only thing I don’t understand is, how could he not have known that his job was in jeopardy. Also, why would he want speak to management if the decision was already made to fire him?

I’m from Africa and been living in the US for the past 8 years. I have worked at several places and one big lesson I have learned is that the American employer can fire an employee at anytime , irrespective of how devoted and dedicated they’ve been to the job.

My family member works at CNN, and several of her colleagues have previously worked with Don Lemon. They all say he was rude and disrespectful to his coworkers.
