Savage B Mag 17 WSM Trigger Action Reset Failure Fix

If your Savage B Mag 17 WSM Trigger won't reset and won't charge the striker when you press the bolt down, this is the fix.
You can either file down the catch that snaps to the trigger (do not file the Trigger side), or you can reduce the spring pressure on the Trigger pressure adjustment.
The bolt charging won't work if the pressure on trigger is pushing down the action arm and keep it from snapping back into position.
Filing the action lever top side makes it smooth to snap back into place but won't release charge.
Reducing the spring pressure on trigger lets the action lever slide back into place without too much resistance.
You can do both.
As always, clean with degreaser and put new lubrication in to keeps them all smooth.

This video saved my B Mag a trip back to Savage. Thank you!

Went out to shoot b mag for first time. The bolt would work easy bit the firing pin did not work. Called Savage and the woman went through how to work the action because it is a cock on closing, so does my Enfield but it still shoots. She then told me how to send it back. I came across this video and had my gun fixed in less than 2 minutes. You saved me lots of trouble and time. Big thank you.

Took longer to grind a file to fit hole then it did to to fix gun. Great video and instructions!

I posted earlier and edited it out, because after calling Savage Arms CS, I was told to return the firearm to them under warranty. UPS at my location refused to ship it. The USPS office across the street was lined up out the door. So, I went 5 miles down the road to Fedex. The nice Fedex clerk mumbled beneath her mask something about $19 , OK, fine. But come to find out shipping was mandatory next day priority for $119.00. Oh well, a gun with a faulty trigger is a liability I want NO part of and the factory fix will be free as will return shipping. Cheers!

Anyone else have issues with the trigger pull weight staying at what they set it at? I cant get mine to stay anything less than 4lbs.

I need to fix mine. I have watched this 10 times and cant see what you did to fix it. Any way you can do a video of the fix with narration?

Any chance you could actually show the part you filed down? I'm not seeing it based on your replies to other comments. Thanks!

nice video but where is the fix, all you show is the resetting, nothing more. Show the fixes, both of them!!
