Finally Rescuing My FIRST WARHAMMER ARMY

Published 2024-06-09
This week I take on some of the first eBay models I ever bought! Way back when I was a wee lad I started playing Warhammer with some friends and I ran with Eldar, one of the hardest-hitting units I had at the time was Fire Dragons. I ended up buying a couple of lots on eBay to bolster my army and face, specifically, Kharn the Betrayer. These are the things that will stick with me for a long time, and rescuing these models is far overdue, so it is time to take a few of them and finally give them the treatment they deserve.

I will be teaching painting classes at Soonercon from June 21-23 in Norman OK. If you're in the area come by and hang out! I will be at the convention the entire weekend and it should be an awesome time!

It's the context and the emotional background for your minis which I really, really like. It's the secret sauce for your channel, you connect with the minis and their paintjob in a completely different way to most.

For those wanting to strip metal minis like Casey, do not do what Casey did. Remove the base from the model before dropping it in the acetone. You might be able to save the base for use.

The new paintjob looks cool, but I think you had a great motif in the old paint scheme as well. Black, silver, gold, and red looked very striking. Even the unintentional green was really interesting. It might be fun to make a call back squad with those colors done a bit more intentionally. Heck if you don't do it, I might just steal it for myself.

Nice, glad to see someone finally painting Eldar on youtube! Keep it up!

They look great! I like how the colours tie in well together, especially with the details on the helmets. A nice collection of new and old memories of fun times...

Man Jes Goodwin Really came up with some Brilliant Designs 👍

Some great advice here. Many times I've had to put down a unit and come back to it days, weeks, or months later and I'm always refreshed when I return.
  • I've literally just done the exact same thing with my original oldhammer howling banshees. They were always my favourite unit and I really want to do them justice 25 years later Keep up the good work 👍

Not much of a fan of the Eldar, but I love watching your videos and seeing progress with anyone's style. Keep up the good work!

Eldar were my first army and those old fire dragons are iconic

I like your base theme concept, it's clean and simple and that lore concept comes across easily
  • @Kitbash.Carnage
Another amazing video brother 🙌 🔥 keep up the inspiring work ❤
  • I can absolutely understand the urge to re-start your first army. I've done the same with my Black Templars army which I started in 4th edition. I'm slowly starting to get to a point where one could actually call it an army and the nostalgia is amazing. I absolutely love it. Great video, as always!

Very nice work! I like to see the Emperor's elixir used to strip away nurgles rot!
  • @UncleSalarino
A new video from Casey is always an awesome way to start the day! Love it, and keep up the great work
