Had they announced it during the ceremony, they would have sent every single person in that stadium into a tizzy and it would have been absolute chaos. Instead they chose to continue on with the ceremony and let the police do their job. She had to be identified by fingerprints so it's not like they even knew what student was impacted.

Jeez. This is the most shocking I’ve ever heard in a graduation ceremony. A day to celebrate your success in college. And yet, it was ruined by a tragedy.

I’m glad they didn’t announce it and continued with the ceremony because this selfish woman committed suicide at her own daughter’s graduation 🤬 I feel so bad for her daughter (and family) because she was not able to celebrate a major achievement in her life 😢

How about giving the authorities and leadership an opportunity to notify the family and not incite mass panic. People need to stay in their lane.

Everyone is a critic. 🙄. Why ruin the entire occasion for everyone when they didn’t even know who it was. Ridiculous expectations by students and parents

Maybe some college students can write a Master's Thesis on what they would have done differently.

It's OSU - you have 60,000 students... A couple unfortunately die every year. Usually alcohol/drug related/car crash.
