Great video! Watched this and fixed my generator. After cleaning the carb, it started on first pull after 14 years of inactivity!
  • Thanks for the help with my snow blower carb. Got it up and running and ready to work. The Hippa carb cleaning tool kit looks nice.
  • I think it’s interesting he says don’t be daunted by this project. He lists so many little parts with names I haven’t heard of. It already feels overwhelming. I think he mentioned some way of shutting off the fuel line and burning off any fuel in the carburetor, for future use. Looking to buy a cleaning kit or some type of sonic bath. Idk if I’ll ever get my generator running again 😊

I have a generator which sat for a few years on old gas. It now starts up with starting fluid only, but only for a few seconds. Is this likely a gummed carb? Or wouldn't it run at all even with the starting fluid if that were the case?
