Lyrics:

I used to rule the world
Chunks would load when I gave the word
Now every night I go stow away
Hide from the mobs I used to slay

They once were terrified
Every time I looked into their eyes
Villagers would cheer my way
For a hero I was, that's what they'd say

One minute we had it all
Next our world began to fall
Away from all that it had once become
They all cried for my help, but I stood there numb

I gaze off into the boundless skyline
Noteblock choirs playing in the sunshine
Turn 'round pick up my sword and wield
The blade that once forced evil mobs to yield
And hope one day that this chaos and
Destruction turns for the better
Never a bow in hand
And that was when I ruled the land

It was the creepers and Skeletons
Blew down the doors and boxed us in
Arrows whizzing by like streaks of light
I tried all that I could to stay and fight

As the undead roamed the street
Families broken at my feet
Life itself suspended by a thread
Oh, why is it that I wasn't dead

I gaze off into the boundless skyline
Noteblock choirs playing in the sunshine
Turn 'round pick up my sword and wield
The blade that once forced evil mobs to yield
If this battle should leave me slain
I know that Herobrine calls my name
Better to take a stand
And that was when I ruled the land

Do you remember when herobrine was the scariest thing that ever existed because I do.
  • 12 years ago, I listened to this song. 12 years now, I'm listening to this song again. 12 years later, I hope I'm still here to listen to this song.

“The movie isn’t even sad, stop crying.” The movie:

The king is truly one of the most powerful yet traumatized characters of all time, he has: - Stolen an artifact from Herobrine - Tamed a Warden - Build a kingdom from the ground-up - Had his kingdom razed to the ground by Herobrine - Brutally lost his wife - Escaped from his Kingdom's demise, and thus Herobrine via a genius escape mechanism - Tamed the Ender Dragon to fight alongside his long-lost, now mature son in a battle with a giant piglin mech - Watched his son sacrifice himself on a nuclear bomb to save everyone - Somehow survived through all of this
  • A small note from me: I can remember vividly being around 11/12 years old when this came out, and looking back on that time of my life fills me with both happiness and sadness to an incredible degree. Having no real worries, no heavy responsibilities and enjoying the excitement and innocence of childhood, while playing Minecraft with friends and listening to this song, is something I can remember with pure happiness. I look back on those times now, as a 22 year old guy currently at university, travelling the world and training to be a pilot, with such fond and nostalgic eyes. It's insane how quickly life goes, and you have no idea what life has the ability to throw at you - it comes at you so goddamn quick and times like the ones I describe here, and so fondly remember, suddenly become a thing of the past. I am so proud to say that I feel like I have become someone that little 11 year old me, watching this video, would be extremely proud and excited to one day be - I cant help feel a sense of loss when looking back at the times this video reminds me of so fondly however. Growth is natural, but don't wish it upon yourself - make the very most of childhood and the exciting, carefree and beautiful times it brings as one day you'll look back on them with tear-filled eyes. If you find yourself looking back in the same way, embrace the feelings - do not shy away from them or block them out. Don't wish for that time back even if it seemed perfect, those memories and those times made you who you are today. Smile at the memories, but more importantly, smile at the present. Wishing anyone who reads this all the very best.

As kids these Minecraft parodies were just songs As we grew older we realized these were staples of our childhood
  • @TheBrokenRec

I remember being six years when watching this video, I cried. I cried my eyes out cuz i thought it was such a deep story. it took me 5 years to realise that this wasnt the original song. 12 years later i can confirm i still cried watching this video It reminded me of a simpler time where my biggest worries were if i'd find my loot again after dying... bring me back please

2012: Damn that hurts. 2019: That still hurts.

As a child I didn’t call these songs “parodies”. It would have just been too insulting to call them that.

Back in 2013, i would play Minecraft with my dad we would listen to this every-time we would play, i had the time of my life. Until He told me while we were playing “he son i have to pick up some groceries for your mom and sister, ill be back. He didn’t come back mom turned on the news and “Man fatally killed by drunk driver” i think of him every-time i see my old xbox 360.
