$1500 seems right to me, honestly. Props to the seller for being so level-headed

I've owned 6 Camaros over the years. My first was a '74 LT. It had a 350, 2 bbl and a turbo 350 auto. The next were a pair of '67s, an RS and a base model. Both needed work and I never got around to doing it. My first new Camaro was an '84 Z28, I ordered it new in '83. It had the 5.0 H.O., 5 speed, 4 wheel discs. The next was an '85 IROC Z, ordered in February 1985. It was a 5.0 TPI, auto, t-top, 4 wheel disc car. I bought an '87 5.7 TPI, 4 wheel disc car in '06 as a 2nd car.

LSC, you need to get those wheel dollies for your shop. That way if a car won't move just jack it up and place it on them so you can slide the vehicle to where you want it to go.

I'm surprised you haven't secured a trailer with a winch. As many cars as you buy, it's about time. Glad the guy was cool enough to work with you on price. 1500 was a good deal for him.

Dude you were meant to be on a tv show or YouTube all along! Your personality is sooo great and you’re such a nice guy and a peoples person. Keep up the AWESOME work my guy! You’re motivating a lot of ppl to get out and work on their cars and try to do some diy and I know you think you know you are, but you really probably don’t realize how many. Keep it up it man!
  • Freezing weather, cold hands trying to load a rusty wreck...been there, but, totally admire your fortitude. Love the channel. Peace be unto you.

The mid 80's IROC Z28 Camaro is by far my personal favorite car. Never got to own one but knew a few that did. I really like the body lines and the body style. Sure hope you can restore this one back to its formal glory without sinking too much into it. This one looks straight. However, the rusting is a huge issue.

I had the same thing happen to me when I was looking for another 3rd gen. The pictures and everything sounded great and when I got there, it was almost like a different car. This guy seemed really nice though so that helps. The guy I was dealing with who just completely changed his story after I drove 300 miles to go see it. I hope it works out! Not enough videos out there on these cars.
  • @Duckswag87
Such a gorgeous car man, what a shame that it’s so rusted out. I would love to see it restored

Love the video! I just picked up an 88 iroc convertible w/47k original miles. It had been sitting in a storage unit for about 5 years and I legit only paid $1k for it. I put in a new battery and drove it home. I didn't realize just how lucky I was until watching this video. Not an ounce of rust or dings whatsoever. Only thing wrong with it is a little bit of paint fade.
  • Hey guy im from south africa qualified mechanin since 1999 and i love your videos im addicted. Recently let go from my job things not good in my country im about to forfeit payments on my 2007 ford ranger dont know what im gonna do for wheels but im gonna do my best to kerp following your channel you inspire me
  • @maxnex7676
Dave seems a nice enough guy and great to see that he was open to negotiation.
  • @lorddoggo4353
Not only is it the midwest but its also a third gen, great combo if you love rust! Thankfully my 84 bird doesnt have any.
  • I have an 89 that's in great condition. Mine has T-tops, the tuned port 305, 5 speed manual transmission, & runs great. Mine is completely rust free. I went through my teenage years when these IROC's first came out, i fell in love with this bodystyle back in those days. I always wanted one. I found mine quite some time ago & it's not going anywhere!!
  • I’d say either sell it to someone willing to do a full on restoration (the clean title and the story behind it may be an incentive) or part it out and even get some profit out off of it. It’s sad to see it go out this way but at least it’ll help others by keeping them on the road.

This was also my very first car! '86 IROC, black with t-tops and the 305 TPI. Got it when I turned 17, after saving for about a year. My parents matched whatever I could put down, and I think the car was $2500. Honestly it's a miracle I made it out of my teens alive. I'm really glad to see these cars getting attention again, I loved that thing.
  • Had an 87 Iroc ttop 350 police auction drug runner car. So much fun back in the 90s. Great in a straight line. really fast. sucked in corners, spun with no warning several times. Still miss it. Was a great looking car. Good luck!!!
