All I can say is that its a good job they didnt do those when we burnt a ruddy great hole in my brand new tracky top, O well a good excuse to wag a day off school and a trip to sheffield to try and blag Suggs sports that they had sold it me faulty, forgot to wash it and she asked why the dirt ring around the collar. Thanks for the video. A question ? Do you find the temperature can get too high ? I solder some small circuit boards and I think you have to be careful here !

Thanks for introducing me to this product. Is there a problem with different brands of Butane fuel?

Great tip on fanning out the wires.

PLEASE HELP ME! How do you keep your tip from corroding i bought it yesterday and had nothing but trouble with the tip corroding every time i solder a wire the tip corrodes can you please tell me how to stop this? I use low temperature should i be using higher temperature? My soldering tip on low turns cherry red on low flame. The discoloration on the tip is bad at low temperature setting

You need a real wire stripper. That method only results in broken wires

I've found the versatip far too hot to solder anything, it oxidizes the tip before I can tin it, so it repels solder like oil in water... also the hot air attachment scorches wire or heat shrink at 8-12" away. Wish I could turn down the gas even more.

always touch solder to iron whilst it touches a component, wire, or pad...not just solder to tip whilst the iron isnt touching what it solders. some people make a mistake of putting solder on the iron.... this is bad and wrong. the tip should be cleaned with sponge or mesh before it touches anything . Ive been in the industry 30 years Ive been in the b

no flux?

I just bought this and I can't get the solder to stick. I think it oxidized right away. Is it ok to file it to re-tin it?

Hey, there. I didn't notice a fan on while you were soldering. I hear the fumes from the melting wire are noxious. Be careful, bud. Also, there is one soldering iron I've heard about that's in the same price range. And it's pretty damn dandy. It's called the TS100. Check it out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OYDeogFmLWI ... Merry Soldering!

I wanted buy one of these for the portability aspect. This video is from 4 years ago and the price then was around £30. 40 years of life experience would tell me that this should be cheaper now but nope. It's doubled in price. Dremel can give me blow(torch)job
