The 2022 NFL Draft class was always considered weak when it came to the QB position, but two years later no one expected it would be this bad. Today, I want to talk about the 2022 rookie QBs, their pre draft hype and what has happened to each drafted player, enjoy!

Why was this class so bad? What class/position should I do next?

Joe Flacco had more TDs in 6 games than Pickett has had in 2 years

Malik Willis was the biggest troll job the nfl has ever done to the media

I wouldn’t give up on Sam Howell just yet. Last season he was playing very well until he just collapsed towards the end. He’s still a young QB the talent is definitely there. Can’t give up on a young QB after starting one season.

Man the 2021 and 2022 NFL draft for QBs was quite rough. Only Trevor Lawrence and Brock Purdy from that class are projected to be their team’s QB1 barring a massive injury.

Purdy and Pacheco being late 7th rounders and also probably the best 2 skill players in the draft is crazy.
  • The fact Desmond Ridder was drafted in the second round is utterly horrifying. That guy is a person who makes you turn off football kind of bad

Howell and Zappe were done dirty as hell, especially in 2023, their OCs were absolutely no help to them and much less their teams

Also I finally figured out my mic, I should have had that done 3 years ago 😂but i finally got good sound!

I'm going to defend Sam Howell a little bit. The kid got the shit kicked out of him because that O-line was literally the worst in the league, and Bienemy doesn't believe in running the ball to take pressure off the QB.

Purdy being drafted last overall and seeing him became the QB he is today whilst other QBs on this list going in the 1st round, just proves all the combine nonsense, mock drafts, pro days, analysis etc is just a load of tripe

4:45: Sam Howell is most remembered for being sacked 65 times in 2023, with 51 occurring in the first 11 games. This had him on pace to set an all time season record. The offensive was pitiful which had to make him gun shy, but he also had the habit of holding onto the ball too long.

People wanted the lions to take Malik Willis at #2 overall which was insane.

Most quarterback didn’t have much of a chance Kenny Pickett and Ridder had chances but players like Malik Willis and Sam Howell are more project QBs especially Malik but there was the commitment to them

I was looking heavy at QBs the year before this one and really liked Purdy then. When he didn't declare and went back for another year I made a note to try and keep track of him, but forgot to.

Brock Purdy is the savior of this QB class ironically, the last pick of the draft

Going into the draft, everyone knew that it was a subpar class, and surprisingly, teams drafted like it was. In a normal year, someone would have made Malik Willis the Trey Lance of the draft and overdraft him, but he dropped to the 3rd round. Still pretty shocked Sam Howell dropped to the 5th round. I thought he should have gone in the 3rd and was really hoping my team picked him in the 4th. There is also a lot of "situation matters" in this as well. Pickett had the misfortune of being in a Matt Canada offense, so we probably never saw the best out of Pickett. Corral got hurt in his first preseason, then everything changed in the org and there was no place for him. Howell got his opportunity, but it was hardly ideal. Meanwhile, Purdy went to the perfect situation for him.

As a patriots fan, Bailey Zappe is actually pretty good as a starter, I like him better than Mac Jones. The only problem is he’s not consistent, he flatlines at times.
