Homesteading | OFF GRID | Food Supply Disaster, Deep Sea Fishing, & Breaking a Broody Hen

We homestead alone while we take turns going on vacation. This month we're taking turns homesteading alone so we can fit in a couple summer vacations this year. Shane takes care of the homestead while Lindsey and Liam go down to Florida fishing and then we switch roles while Shane goes up north in Minnesota fishing. Shane runs into some problems with our propane freezer and needs to fix it before we lose all our frozen chickens and fish. He also discovers we have another broody hen trying to hatch out even more chicks which we don't have room for. Lindsey gets back and then takes care of the thawed-out food and also builds a broody jail in hopes to break the hen of her broodiness. All in all, it's great to take some time away from the homestead and all the work around here - although homesteading alone is double the work! When it's all said and done, we're just so thankful to be back home and have each other working as a team on this homestead.
