As an American I have never been exposed to Canadian TV commercials. Today I am very excited to learn about what the I am Canadian commercials are and enjoy watching a compilation of them. If you enjoyed the video feel free to leave a comment, like, or subscribe for more!

Office Canadian pulling the annoying American's suit jacket over his head references a standard hockey fight tactic. Once employed, the flurry of punches follow very quickly.
  • The “I am Canadian“ rant is probably the most nationalistic commercial ever made. It is a must for you to see.

As a Canadian, never never confuse our being nice for being weak. Think of the commercials as anti-stereotype.

“You’ve overcome bad directions to find your friend’s cottage” truer words have never been spoken. 12:31
  • The Canadian Olympic hockey team had a beer fridge that would only open with a Canadian passport! 🎉🎉🎉
  • I confess: I'm not even a big fan of Molson Canadian beer, but the "beaver in the bar" commercial still leaves me doubled over laughing. Like the "killer rabbit" scene from "Monty Python and the Holy Grail" - once you've seen it, you never forget it.
  • The “cooking by flashlight” is because this far north, in the fall/winter months the sun sets around 3-5PM, so if you want to BBQ for 6 months of the year, you basically need a flashlight to see when the meat is done (exterior lights usually blocked by your body).
  • Unfortunately, that collection is missing The Rant, which is the best of them.
  • Some years ago I was in Moosonee (far north Ontario). An American walked up to a Cree resident and asked (in a distinct New York accent) "You speakum English?" I left before all hell was gonna break loose (true story).
  • You need to do a Part Two. "The Rant" is essential viewing to understand Canada. You'll LOVE it.
  • My cousin is the Canadian in the bar with the beaver. Nobody in the family knew he did this till we saw it on TV - it was and still is pretty cool! His name is Cary Shields and he has some music videos on Youtube. Also cool.

You gotta do The Rant - aka "Joe from Canada - I am Canadian"
  • Canadians have a wicked sense of humour. Don't know why they stopped making these as they were funnier than heck. You should watch the Molson Canadian red beer fridge commercials. They expanded their reach, as it were, to Europe with these commercials. Canadian pride is strong but subtle.
  • While in Mexico, an American asked us 🇨🇦 if we had television in Canada. My husband ran with it. No, we don’t have tv. Sometimes we drive 3 hours to the border to our friends and have television parties. He believed us

Actually these commercials were incredibly relatable to most Canadians at the time. Especially the "unwritten code" commercials. They were genius as there was a good chance that, as a viewer, you would relate to two or three things on the list as they were incredibly common Canadianisms for the genertation(s) they were intended for. Even watching you react to them I am recalling how I relate to the activities on the list lol.
  • As an older person I can tell you that a lot of Americans throughout my life have been completely obnoxious as in the commercials. This is real. You have to do part 2 because there's a famous commercial about "joe canadian" It's the rant one. that you DIDN'T VIEW, You also missed the "anthem 90" and you also missed the "I will walk five hundred miles" and probably several others. Please do a part 2.
  • "You've worn a canoe as a hat" lol i laughed so hard, ive done the canoe thing.
  • I loved this campaign! It was so clever and people knew exactly what it was for without even having to put the product in it too much!

The best ad campaign ever... they should play it seasonally
