The University of Michigan completed a $227 million renovation in 2012 that added a completely new press box, luxury suites and a complete facade overhaul. This offseason they spent $30 million on new scoreboards and lighting. So there have been many major recent renovations to Michigan Stadium.

The Palace of Auburn Hills was old but it was not outdated, let alone "very outdated". Some of the interiors could have used a renovation to make it a bit more modern design wise but the arena itself was so ahead of it's time when it was built that it was still a very nice arena when they left.

Before they built the new press boxes Michigan Stadium replaced all of the concrete in the bowl. I do like the idea of creating more seating in the endzones with a raised plaza and additional food service. Maybe add 10k to seating to keep it the largest for a little bit longer. As for Ford Field I think raising the roof would be necessary with creating space for a plazas on each end and moving the seats in the 2nd level to the sides and adding maybe 10k given it was built before the blackout rules were changed. The Silverdome had a lot of issues for selling out which forced sponsors to buy seats. If they get 10k more in seating they probably could be in the running for more SBs.

I like passing by Little Caesars Arena as I pass into Midtown on my way to the Cass Corridor, Wayne State, and the DIA.

0:25 Ford Field is both Detroit Lions 🦁 and Michigan Panthers 🐆 In one Stadi

When you said Ford Field is the smallest stadium in the NFL, do you mean by it's total footprint or by seating? Seating it's just ahead of AZ and CHI, until they build the new CHI one. And also, for Spartan Stadium, there have been times it's been so cold, the eastern side of the upper deck had to be shut down because of frozen pipes. That should be the next thing that gets done there, renovating the east side stands. It's well overdue.

No love for the country's largest wooden dome, the Superior Dome in Marquette?

Michigan stadium just got new video boards and new lighting, it looks so much nicer now

As both a student at Michigan State and someone who lives a mile down the road from where the Palace used to be, Spartan Stadium is in no need of any more renovations right now and what they did to the Palace is an absolute waste. Michigan State doesn't need any more excuses to raise the tuition and housing prices and the Palace was not outdated. It was still a relatively modern facility that was well kept and hosted many events such as concerts, Disney on Ice, etc. Total disgrace what they did to it... it's now an empty concrete lot.

Do Minnesota next. Aside from target center it has the best professional stadiums/arenas. And don’t forget the college hockey arenas. Love the vids man

While Ford Field is a mostly nice stadium. It's receiving dock, not so much. For a modern stadium it's receiving dock should be double the size. It always is a pain trying to make deliveries there a day or two before Sunday. About Michigan Stadium. It originally was designed to be able to double it's capacity from when it was built, which was around 72,000 in 1927. The biggest problem with Comerica Park is that the seats are too far from the field.

I don't understand the dislike of Comerica Park. I personally like it. Not bland at all. Also, Do not touch the Big House! It's an iconic stadium that if changed would lose some of the mystique.
  • The Palace should've never been torn down. Tiger Stadium either. So unfortunate. Also, The Palace was not very outdated, unless you were born in the past decade. The Palace set the modern standard for arenas.
  • @greenbay3164
You should do like a top 30 stadiums/arenas of all time.
  • @frankproscia1656
I thought Tiger Stadium was a great stadium. I saw no problem with it.
  • @bobbowie9350
Comerica has tghe weirdiest door frame behind home plate. The scoreboard is way too the left. Split levels were dated on arrival

If I could do anything to Ford Field, it would be to remove the roof and replace it with a frosted glass, like the sides so you get the natural light, yet enclosed.

Michigan stadium just replaced the scoreboards the largest pair of scoreboards in the country. That with new LED lighting cost $41M. Maybe they'll have more night games. The blue hairs don't like night games though.
