Departing a Caribbean eco-paradise on their return flight to the U.S. the vacationers and honeymooners aboard don't realize that their real adventure is just beginning. Hidden on the ill-fated plane are army ants, a super-organism comprised of millions of individuals, whose only imperative is survival. Emerging thru the tiniest spaces of the aircraft's interior as individuals they quickly coalesce into a black swarm and attack, to feed and or to defend themselves. Once they overwhelm a victim there is no escape. If that terror isn't enough there is a second threat to their survival when the pilot is refused permission to land, anywhere - because the ants are like the plague or bird flu that might not be able to be contained. The threat is considered so serious that if they attempt to land in the U.S. F16's are in the air ready to shoot them down. It's now up to the pilot, a woman who has her young daughter aboard as a passenger, to get everyone down safely. Somewhere. If you feel something crawling up your leg better hope it doesn't bite.

Watching from South Africa, 28 December 2019. Its sad how authorities think. I was very hurt when the plane was denied landing by almost all nearby airports. Thanks to the TV crew that arrived just before the military could extinguish everything on that plane...nice movie indeed

This is a surprisingly good movie. Despite appearing a little camp in spots the performances are convincing, and editing and continuity are flawless. I love the interactions between mother and daughter, college boys, engaged couple. I wish there had been more between the cabin crew, and that the romance had been handled better. And they could have come up with a better title! In any case, I'll never look at ants the same way again. Thank you, JPG!

I came into this with little hope of actually finishing it, but gotta say I liked it. The idea of ants being a thing to worry about on a plane hit me, but the fact that the writers answered that question is good enough for me. good movie all around.
