Life's taught me to be wary of a wide-eyed smiling Donald Glover. Shit tends to go down after that happens.

The old guy laughing while crying "oh no" is such a complex reaction; it's a mix of disassociation and grief. Everyone else laughs because they are so broken they use humor as a cooping mechanism. Which Is the underlying message of the song; children forced to normalize the traumatic loss of a father and just expecting them to move past it.

I can’t get over how beautiful the videography and lighting are. The entire team did a great job to get the gritty, charged film noir atmosphere. Childish always steals any scene he is in. I love how he uses his background as a comedic actor to deliver his art. It would be so cool to see behind the scenes of this MV
