  • Life's taught me to be wary of a wide-eyed smiling Donald Glover. Shit tends to go down after that happens.
  • The old guy laughing while crying "oh no" is such a complex reaction; it's a mix of disassociation and grief. Everyone else laughs because they are so broken they use humor as a cooping mechanism. Which Is the underlying message of the song; children forced to normalize the traumatic loss of a father and just expecting them to move past it.
  • I haven't seen anyone else notice this, but there's an audience member at 3:49 who's smiling and enjoying the performance before everything goes to shit. He was so close to winning over the crowd with talent, but then he accidentally achieves it with violence. 3:49

Don't let it go over your head that the second the music involved "N*ggas dying" the crowd started loving it. Donald Glover truly a genius with every message he puts out there for yall.
  • @archielewis9183
“Y’all don’t hear me, You just wanna dance” Mr. 3000
  • The way Donald Glover can act so much with just his eyes, then his face and body follow along... chef's kiss
  • @boopdoop2865
This man has so clearly performed for a room full of blank faces because that awkward beginning where he was still clearly hyping himself up looked SO REAL!
  • @moondeliight
THE FIRST CHILDISH GAMBINO MUSIC VIDEO IN (near) SIX YEARS.
  • That transition to Nudy is fucking hilarious. Whole different song 😂
  • I can’t get over how beautiful the videography and lighting are. The entire team did a great job to get the gritty, charged film noir atmosphere. Childish always steals any scene he is in. I love how he uses his background as a comedic actor to deliver his art. It would be so cool to see behind the scenes of this MV
  • @seanz8189
my man choose to drop this in the middle of Kendrick and Drake beef. BRAVO SIR
  • The definition of, "Nobody knows what it means but it's provocative." Gambino back.
  • @10XSeiga
bruh he made a commentary about how we make people feel good by making music about hurting eachother. beautiful.
  • The acting as he goes from shock and horror at accidentally killing someone to realization and deciding to use this to his advantage is incredible. There's so much conveyed just through his face.
  • @sparkledowner
2:35 soul chord progression and synth is lovely. wish more of the song had that
  • Nudy: "so hey donny, where do I fit into this song?" Donald glover: "uuuuuuuuuuuugh.....right at the end"
  • @brianluck84
He could have easily made this an episode in Atlanta.
  • @Astartes-6969
"Ya'll don't want to hear me. You just wanna Dance." Perfectly describes this song.
  • @sasquatchish
I love happy sounding songs with dark words. This shit is dope AF.
