A viral video filmed on Tuesday sparked outcry and triggered protests after it showed an officer kick and stamp on the head of a man who was lying face down on the floor, as a woman knelt beside him.

However, new footage filmed from a car park at Manchester Airport’s Terminal 2 now appears to show that officers were under attack moments before.

Mayor of Greater Manchester Andy Burnham told LBC on Sunday that people should not "rush to judgement."

"There is another side to this. The situation is very complicated, fast moving, quite a violent situation.

"We now have is a fuller picture and hopefully people can see why I said what I said last week."

Nick Ferrari is joined by former Firearms Response Sergeant Harry Tangye (03:31) and Criminal solicitor Sean Caulfield of Hodge, Jones & Allen (08:01)

Sorry mate you got it totally wrong, those thugs were out of control. In any other country they would have been shot, whilst not condoning the stamping the police were well within their rights.

Give me a break. They attacked ARMED POLICE in an AIRPORT. They are lucky to be breathing still.

If the officer involved loses their job, I would not be surprised if all firearms trained officers decide they no longer want to be in that role. The perpetrator was lucky not to have been shot. We should be supporting the oficers involved, not trying to blame them.

It was a fight for life not police by numbers, in America they’d all be in a body bag.

Once Nick gets beat in a debate he hits the ole "got to leave it there, we are running out of time"

No respect for Police, Fire service, Ambulance service, Care workers, Nurses, all being attacked constantly and the government allow it. Shocking . It’s going to get worse.

Nick not thinking straight. Fair enough he's only just got out of bed, but even so it's not fair to sit in cold judgement of a violent, heated and potentially dangerous situation.

If our Politicians make comments in the house after watching a one minute Facebook clip , this country is in real trouble.

Nick has never had a fight in his whole life. He doesn't know what he's talking about.

The police are on a hiding to nothing its about time they were given the support they deserve, those two thugs should be arrested and jailed. The police officer should be praised not lambasted what would have happened if they got hold of his gun ?
  • It's nothing about being 'controlled'. The 2 attackers aren't playing a fair game, as they showed by their attacking 2 female officers. Nick talks about it like their is some 'fair play' aspect to policing.

I’ve watched and rewatched the footage. The male officer was punched in the face and head 13 times by both men. I’m not sure how many street fights Nick has been involved in but after being subject to such a beating you are literally fighting for your life. As the guest here says that officer is a human being and in fight or flight, probably concussed and his actions are entirely justified.

We all need to support the police involved in the Manchester airport incident they are the victims here

If that police officer is getting suspended those violent thugs need arresting not allowed to go home to laugh in the polices face.

Media need to release full facts. Otherwise, it's not journalism. It was total manipulation of the public and dangerous as it may incite bad behaviour.

Thugs rule - thats the message if that police officer is punished. Reprimand him by all means but he was ensuring the safety of his fellow officers against out of control thugs resisting arrest.
