The elf mage Frieren, and her three compatriots, fondly named “The Hero Party,” are returning to the Royal Capital to be lauded for achieving what has been an epic 10-year quest: defeating the Demon King. This is the blink of an eye for Frieren, who at this point is over 1,000 years old! Her fellow adventurers are the human hero Himmel (who dealt the final blow to the Demon King and is the man of the hour), dwarven warrior Eisen, and human priest Heiter. Their quest is complete, and the Hero Party disbands, but before peeling off to go their separate ways, they view the Era Meteors, a once-in-fifty-year event.
