MALIK SPELLMAN: WE ARE ON THE BRINK OF EXTINCTION

Published 2023-12-24
Gang violence has been portrayed in movies and television for so many years that stereotypes have come to exist for those real-life people who actually live their lives in gang communities. But just how accurate that portrayal is may be brought into question with tonight's interview with gang mediator & the former host of A&E’s “The Peacemaker” Malik Spellman as he talks to Norm Steele and MC Eiht on the Gangster Chronicles about the violence and death between various Los Angeles gangs. With his close, personal relationship to the Los Angeles gang culture, Spellman, who is a violence prevention counselor by day has become a central figure in bringing peace to the community. This is Gangster Chronicles episode 234 “Momma Why You Move To This Neighborhood”?

Gentrification is happening everywhere. Our family went from living in the city to the suburbs but now what used to be black and brown neighborhoods are white. They bought the land cheap so the developers are making a killing and it’s cause not just the rent but the property taxes to go up and I’m in Dallas Tx. The housing has doubled. A 3 bedroom used to rent for about 1200.00 now it’s about 2200-2500.00. To the youth save and invest your money plus make sure you have good credit. Invest in education and trades because even having a trade is an asset.
