Showing me that your dog "acts embarrassing" too has been so encouraging to me and has helped me be more patient with my sweet dogs. Thank you for being brave and showing us the reality of raising a puppy. You're an awesome dog trainer and a good person too.

Hearing Zak say “sorry” so sheepishly is sooo reassuring and relatable 🤣 that’s me at my back fence everyday. We are trying here okay

I love these videos. Seeing these common "bad" dog behaviors crop up and then be addressed feels like a more realistic and achievable goal than perfect constant obedience from puppyhood.
  • @websterdotuk
It's nice to see the reality of dog training, not just the end result and what you should have done.
  • @tebbie_1980
I love that the series shows all aspects of have a dog in different stages. It’s actually a reality tv show that stays true on the reality part.
  • I was just going to say holy cow there’s a lot of joggers in your neighborhood lol
  • @joancoleman209
I appreciate the reality of your training. Others make it look like all problems are solved in two weeks, and then we go home and struggle. Thanks for illustrating that the struggle is real, and we don't have to be shamed, and we have fun as we overcome the problems. Thanks Zak for making it real.

I love how you don't edit out the parts where inertia doesn't behave as expected. I just got a new puppy and this series has been of immense value to me. Congratulations on the awesome content!
  • Oh my god. I almost cried. My dog was like this. I've done loads to stop it. It took me ages. It's just so comforting to see it was a process.
  • @AlyssaBoulton
Loooove that you show this. There are no other channels that address a well trained dog who is still mildly reactive around the house and front yard.
  • Anyone else notice that he doesn’t say no or scold her? It’s amazing how positive reinforcements is all it takes.
  • Omg, thank you so much for this channel! MOST of the trainers show their super-well-super-calm dogs and I was thinking "ok, my dog'll never be like this" and now I could see my dog is not such bad, this is a normal dog with normal problems! And even GREAT trainer could be embarassed when his dog is barking at someone!

My new Maltese puppy has been doing so well all because I watch almost all your videos! House training is easier now. She is 11 weeks and already know a lot of basic tricks llike sit, stay, dance, lie down, roll over, stay! I’m so impressed! Thank you Zak!❤️
  • Im getting a dog soon and I've watched your the whole series at least 4 times! and inertia is so big and beautiful!!
  • @Sophie_Kam
Honestly I just LOOOOVE how you show us the reality of owning a dog and how it is not perfect all the time even for a dog trainer. I feel like your videos are very relatable and don't make us (mortals) feel like our dog's broken or something haha. Just wanted to take the time to thank you for all your help!! :)

Immediately, right from the start of this video, you had my attention. I can’t tell you how much I appreciate you showing the reality of having a dog that’s reacting to the environment, and that you too have to work through the training process. It’s very encouraging. There are far too many training videos out there that show dogs that already know how to perform the actions they are supposedly being “trained” to do. It’s discouraging when my dog doesn’t respond the same way that their dogs do. Far too many trainers think that they need to show perfection, or near perfection - that perfection shows what fantastic trainers they are. Those of us who live in reality aren’t fooled by this one bit, but we DO end up discouraged and deflated. THANK YOU for having the courage to show the reality that many of us are going through. We notice the small wins, and can appreciate the minor successes that add up over time. We just need someone willing to work through these issues WITH us.

This is so encouraging. I brought my dog to puppy obedience and grew so frustrated because he's more of an anxious dog and we were surrounded by calmer breeds. Now I see my dog is normal, to persevere with regular, positive training sessions. Thanks for the great video.

Zack : “The major goal is to get her to not act like a lunatic” Me : I knew I clicked on the right video Hahaha. My pup barks at literally anything that moves 😫
  • @hobimysunshine7
Your patience and positivity never cease to amaze me, love your videos! I wish everyone would teach their dogs this way
  • I can't tell you how reassured I am by watching this video. Herding dog owner in NYC, and it's nice to see Inertia also struggle with a random passerby, etc. That's for giving us the play-by-play. It's helpful to see a dog out in the wild and not just on carpeted training studios!
