BR Class 8P 4-6-2 no.71000 Duke of Gloucester plus LNER A1 Class 4-6-2 no.60163 Tornado arriving at platform 8 on Plymouth Station, Saturday 28 July, 2012.
Clips of arrival together with movement by 71000 in station getting ready for the departure [5Z96] to Tavistock Junction for turnaround. This is needed for the return trip to Bristol.
Also included clips of the other stars (the Crew) together with a little wheel slip by 71000 as they leave for Tavistock Junction.
Of Note:- Tornado was a stand-in engine for Bittern which was a stand-in for Britannia, both engines had problems so could not run.

Seeing duke Gloucester slip and seeing the sheer power of tornado reminds me of how far preservation has come,in 1990 tornado was merely a dream and way back in 1976 duke of Gloucester was rusting away. The preservation movement is absolutely overwhelming and makes anyone proud to be an enthusiast or a volunteer, excellent video and very enjoyable.
