I read the Athletic pretty much on a daily basis and I agree that, at least when it comes to reporting on Rutgers athletics, the reporting has not been great. The other Athletics article is the one on Football recruiting. So yes, their headline mentions Rutgers. But, then it mentions Rutgers at the end of the article with a short not very in-depth discussion. There seems to be some fade on RU by the Athletic. But, we will see as we get into both seasons. I agree that Steele's review of the running backs is questionable. But, otherwise his review of Rutgers football is well done and reasonable. As for your comment on how football will perform based upon offense versus defense, I don't see how the defense doesn't shine this year with a better offense keeping them well rested and off the field.

Thanks for your insights as always, Aaron. Since your taking requests, some fans are curious to know: Being a developmental football program, and hearing so many positive anecdotes about Rutgers weight training & nutrition, can you find out more about that on an average individual level? Like the average DB/WR arrives at Rutgers at 180 and puts on 20 lbs of muscle year after 2 years. And OL/DL or whatever. I suspect that’s in the roster stats or media guide, though that may not be accurate.

The fact that Rutgers does not play against the physicality of PSU, IOWA, OSU, and MICH should help (nevermind the fact that these teams and Oregon are rated the best in the B10)

Let's hope that Steele underrated the WR!

Would it be possible to project Rutgers offensive capabilities statistically, based on the level of play of Athan or other QBs?

I don’t read them cause on many occasions I found the information to be incorrect or just not there. And they want you to pay for that right?
  • Rutgers is not going 6 and 6 with this schedule. 7-5 is the floor and 9-3 is the ceiling.

You're correct - The Athletic's report on the Basketball Portal grouo was not great. You're wrong that the report was good. It was not good - it was embarrassing. Inaccurate and Incomplete equals Not Credible....Which is worse!
