I have turned several vintage jewelry boxes into fabulous "antique" tea boxes. Your men's valet could be ideal for this purpose! Strip off that black velveteen stuff, give it a nice paint/antiquing finish, replace the hardware, line drawers with old handkerchiefs (only adhering center, so that you can fold over the pretty corners of it once you fill the drawers with lovely tea bags!). Replace the areas that once had that ugly black fabric with a romantic Victorian one, then the front area can hold several vintage/antique tea spoons(the short ones that were actually used for tea) and the top can hold a beautiful sugar and cream set that you can pick up at thrift, yard, or estate sales!

I wish our local thrift stores had such a good variety and good prices. I've found some nice things, but not often.

Another great video! I firmly believe in buying Christmas presents for myself! No one else thinks I need more dollhouse treasures or milk glass! I thrift/yard sale/clearance shop all year to make raffle theme baskets for my church's Christmas bazaar and a group I belong to; I usually do one with Santa, snowmen, gingerbread men, sometimes angels, gardening supplies (Goodwill at summer's end!), and often cats (books, a catnip mat and mouse, homemade cat toys, jewelry, figurines, etc.)! This year I did "the little red truck", too. The baskets get a scrub and sometimes a paint job or clear coat. I add my homemade sugar scrubs, sachets, potpourri, bath salts, crocheted dishcloths, as well as dish cloths, candles, candy dishes, spatulars, plates, ornaments, cooky cutters, stationery items, pens, etc. Of course, no two are ever alike. I buy the cellophane basket bags on clearance. This year I found 2 1930's Harker China custard cups in the pattern a friend collects! Score! I would love your homemade gifts. I swear by Howard's restora finish and the feed and wax!

Thanks Sherry, I have alot of people to buy for and they have learned that I am able to give them better quality by buying used. I don't do it to be stingy but to be able to stretch my resources and be more generous! Thoughtfulness to their tastes of course is key.

I just want to thank you for one of the best gifts we can ever receive. Your gift of time, inspiration and friendship. You welcome us to your home every week. You give us tips, work out any problems we may encounter along the way and make crafting really fun! Thank you again for all you do! I wish you and your family a very merry and blessed Christmas! ❤

What a fantastic shopping trip….the up cycling was awesome! Gifts made with love are always special!

I love these ideas! I love the idea of giving new life to an item that has been pre-loved! 😄. We have a gift exchange at work, and maybe I’ll suggest next year that we consider doing a $10 thrifted gift instead of the $20 gifts we buy!

I have given thrifted, upcycled, and handmade gifts for years. I like bundling items together like you did. I am often accused of spending too much money when in reality, I spent less than those who bought new!

🎄 Sherry, these gifts were absolutely amazing!! You've cleaned, tweaked, & styled soo beautifully! ~The thrift is always my first stop too! ~Dont you just love it? ❤😅🤶👍

Finding vintage items with the person’s birth year adds a fun, special touch. Cookbooks, Christmas books, plates, cloth calendars, etc. Really helpful and great ideas in this video! Merry Christmas!

Walmart always has paperwhites and amaryllis in little pots with soil and everything in their Christmas department. For years they were only 5.00 but they’ve gone up to 5.99. I still think it’s a great bargain. I get several every year. I use some in our house and some as gifts. I also use old pots and things to make them nicer. Folks love them as gifts. I try to pot them after Thanksgiving.
