Lalelei means beautiful in Samoan and is the title of the acclaimed show by Sau e Siva telling the story of the turtle and the shark, a Samoan legend from the village of Vaitogi in Tutuila, East Samoa.

This show exploded on the stage and had an extended season at the Mangere Arts Centre, Ngā Tohu o Uenuku, bringing together 40 performers from a variety of backgrounds and was choreographed by the talented Sau e Siva Creatives: Leki Bourke, Italia Hunt, Epine Savea, Jill Karapani and Idalene Ati with Creative Director Troy Tu'ua.

In this rendition the story focuses on the power of love and magic of song and dance through the story-telling of contemporary pese and Siva Samoa.

I love this. I know nothing of my Samoan heritage my grandmother passed away without handing her lineage down to her children . This performance made my eyes water.
