“They say that luck is when opportunity meets preparation. Preparation is when you work hard. Opportunity is for people who show up. And when you show up you work hard. And hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work hard.”

Ryan Serhant began his first day in the real estate business on September 15, 2008 – the same day that Lehman Brothers filed for bankruptcy in the wake of the subprime mortgage collapse. While the real estate sector has steadily recovered, Serhant himself has quickly become one of the most successful brokers in the world, with agents under his leadership in New York City, Los Angeles, Miami and the Hamptons. The Serhant Team has been named by WSJ Real Trends as the #1 real estate team in New York for two years in a row, and the #2 team in the country, selling close to $1 billion in real estate last year. Ryan is consistently the youngest broker to make the Journal’s top ten list each year.

Ryan stars in the popular Bravo series “Million Dollar Listing New York,” which just wrapped its seventh season. On September 18, 2018 – the week of his 10-year anniversary in real estate – he will debut his first book, Sell It Like Serhant. When pre-sales were announced, Ryan was #1 on Amazon’s daily list of “Movers and Shakers.” As star and producer, this year he also debuted his new Bravo show, "Sell It Like Serhant," started a successful vlog (youtube.com/ryanserhant) and launched an app (Agent Empire: NYC). There is nothing Ryan can't do. His motto communicates his professional and personal philosophy, "Expansion. Always. In all ways."

Book, amazing quote at 6:23 “A river doesn’t cut through rock because of its power, it cuts through rock because of its persistence.”

I liked the change of mood. Felt like you really wanted to reach out today not sell yourself (which is fair enough) but today felt 100% for us. Edit - BOOK lmao
  • “We’r defined by the things we do that we aren’t even told to do..”. Word!

Being on time is everything, I hate waiting on someone. People being late they have no respect for you or your time!
  • @SymboliqueZero
So true, even less technical jobs can make you enough money but you have to be persistent and consistent in doing that. Summing up everything in plain English just don't get bored or fed up no matter what you do, you are definitely going to win this race.

Book! Being “persistently consistent” is my form of showing up

BOOK! My husband and I just watched this together. We really needed this great inspiration. He's starting realtor classes next week and I'm a loan officer, so we're hoping to be a power couple. We've had a TON of rough setbacks in the last several years including our daughter battling brain cancer for 2 1/2 years and then passing away, losing his job right after she died (even though he worked hard at that job), having one car stolen and the other car totaled, being robbed of $14,000 and several other huge challenges. We've struggled to have the faith that we could keep getting back up, but your vlogs and this one in particular have helped psyche us back up so we can keep going. Your decision and commitment to this vlog has seriously helped save our family from getting stuck in perpetual devastation. Because we will not give up. Thank you. God bless you. We're excited to see what other inspiration you have to offer.
  • We are inviting you to be our guest here in Montenegro. Who knows maybe something happens :)
  • @troybernal5085
It's easy to do what you're told to do. It's real hard to do what you're not told to do. Those that do the latter are the most successful. Love it.
