First, I dismantled the "handle" or something similar. Next, he removed the first layer of rust with an iron brush and placed the blade in a rust remover. After cleaning, I neutralized the acid effect with soda and water. The blade was cleaned manually, and the grinding was easy. I did not sharpen the blade - there was a request initially.
Next, I added brass linings that pass from the handle to the blade. I came up with an original shape, cut and ground it. I glued the pads to the handle of the blade with epoxy resin. Then he cleaned, sanded the irregularities and moved on to the handle.
I made the sabre handle for the first time, I chose the shape and the beech wood. I also processed and added decoration and decoration to the handle.
The scabbard was made of wood, glued with leather, and added brass fittings. I hope you enjoyed this restoration, please don't bother to share this video.
