It's November 10, 2015. Todd Howard has just unleashed Fallout 4 into the world. No patches. Release build. Take his word for it: it just works. Join me today as I play through the original release of Fallout 4, My goal is to showcase my favourite bugs, exploits and glitches as we explore the fallout lore and adventure through the main quest to find our son shaun. It's going to be quite a journey...

As Bethesda have just released starfield that has been a relatively bug free game excluding all of the exploits I felt it was important to go back in time and see if we can compare the release build of Fallout 4 to a starfield review of sorts. Now as Todd Howard would never lie and every one of his games have the it just works seal of gameplay approval it is impossible for us to have a non perfectly balanced experience! So begone Fallout 4 Next Gen update edition because we are going to the original!

A huge shoutout to the fallout 4 speedrunning community and especially @tomatoanus for preserving the games release build here: www.speedrun.com/fallout_4/resources

What you have seen here today is part of a fantastic perfectly balanced gameplay series on youtube where I go from game to game and break them with wacky exploits to gain things like unlimited gold and infinite money all in a fantastic montage. If you enjoyed this then be sure to check out more. The style is similar to RT game and callmekevin in parts. A large influence on this series has come from Valefisk and The Killian Experience.

I couldn’t even imagine how much Spiff can exploit the bug that is known as “Fallout 4”

"Oh no bombs have fallen in New York and Pennsylvania, nothing of value has been lost" You sound like a true son of New Jersey, sir, and we appreciate it.
  • @jippo91
Man this was a trip to memory lane, but on that lane another settlement needs your help. Here i'll mark the location on your map.

"It's been almost 10 years since Fallout 4's release" Oh god....

Fun fact about the Your Special book. Even to this day it checks your current special stats. So if your strength is lowered by a drug for example, you can use the your special book to raise strength. Then when the drug runs out you have 11 in a stat.

It’s amazing how quickly developers react to glitches that don’t really harm play, but can add fun, while they’re so slow to fix actual bugs and provide qol improvements.

"... summoned into the world via the magic of Dogmeat." One of the MANY forms of magic Dogmeat practices lol
  • @Anders_Lund
One of Todd Howard's greatest achievements but nothing can top the perfectly balanced masterpiece that was Skyrim release build

Honestly this video just made me realize ive never used the cryolator in fallout 4 in all the time ive played it since i always just tend to forget about it 5 seconds after leaving the vault

What you can do with regards to the "you're special" book to increase your stats to about 20 in each, is go on survival, wait 6 days on a chair so your hunger, thirst and tiredness is at it's maximum, increase them all, then eat/drink/sleep or change to any other difficulty and your stats are at a ridiculous high, especially as you can do at level 1, If you use items that debuff you aswell you can increase certain special stats even higher

"our character must loot, grind and quest their way to a high level" 62s , it took just over a minute! pre-emptively ... great video, as always !

You forgot this is Boston All the tea is at the bottom of the Harbor You can probably get there if you help the submarine
  • @Leongon
RIP River, the bestest girl who was the model for Dogmeat in looks and behavior in this game. She passed away in 2021 and I'm still sad about it because Dogmeat is the best companion in the damn game because is the only one that isn't judging you constantly.

I’ve always interpreted the Todd Howard quote as “It just about works”
  • The dream sequence is a lot more tolerable when you realize you can just keep running through the whole thing, ignoring all the memories except for the last one (Kellogg speaks to Courser).
  • 8:50 "we cannot take them higher" Spif, if you sipped the coffee you would have remembered that debuffing your special brings it off the cap, so with Int 10, you drink a beer, your '"active" Int will be 8, so if you used two more special books to offset the debuff you suddenly have 12 Int after the beer wears off. Magic!

The propflying exploit isn't patched even in the latest release. Neither is vlc clipping. Just grab an item, place it under you, crouch, grab hold of the item and uncrouch. Rotate the item in your hand and it will increase or decrease the effect. You can fly up skyscrapers, and clip through the map like the walls and roofs are merely suggestions. My favourite application that I am proud of finding is skipping the like 5 tiny quests required to get best girl, curie. Just enter the vault, grab a cone, clip through the roof in one of the corners, and jump into the exit elevator. This gives you access to go down to her with 0 risk of molerat disease.
