What flat worlds feel like when you forget to turn off mob spawning:

    1. Get a single skeleton 2. Splash oozing 3. Kill skeleton, you have 2 slimes 4. Splash infestation 5. Kill slimes, you have 2 silverfish 6. Splash oozing 7. Kill silverfish, you have 4 slimes 8. Goto 4 (btw infestation doesnt work on silverfish and oozing doesn't work on slimes)

I love the minecraft cycle that goes from "why Mojang hasn't added that already smh" to "nooo, this is breaking the game, why they though this was a good idea 😭😭😭"

So it's completely renewable too if you use a damage source other than harming potions... This is going to be interesting for farms if this doesn't get changed.

As bad as this might seem, I also don't want to scare Mojang away from trying cool stuff like this. We saw how creative they can be with this past April Fools' update. If there is too much complaining they'll just go back into hibernation. I would suggest that they make a server config to allow server owners to control it i.e. oozing won't spawn a slime if there are more than 100 slimes alive. But any suggestion would be good. Don't scare Mojang away from trying cool stuff by calling it stupid or not thought out. Experiments will have mistakes, and they won't experiment if we burn them alive every time something doesn't pan out on the first try. Edit: I wanted to add that this has already happened. Mojang tried increasing the minecart speed a long time ago. They even added interesting mechanics, like getting derailed if it goes around a corner too fast. But people complained that it broke old minecraft maps, so they undid it.

-Oozing effect makes mobs spawn slimes on death -skeletons are always two blocks tall, while the spawned slimes are always 1 -put skeletons in a chamber with an open first layer and wait -Slime Bomb your victim into a laggy and very gooey demise
  • @NeosGoogle
There is a NBT tag that determines what mobs can have oozing. Obviously, slimes can't get oozing, but using a command that can be changed.
  • Imagine using this on a fully automatic farm like a chicken farm or few of them and just making hundreds of slimes without a single player input

This sure does look like a sticky situation

This reminds me of that story of an ultima online player who crashed the game servers two times doing something similar. You see, when the slimes were first introduced on the game, they would split if they took damage instead of dying unlike minecraft. The game also allowed you to store monsters on your inventory like an item (do not ask me why). This guy knew all of this, and gathered some slimes in his house, but instead of damaging them to death he used some grenades that caused little damage and weren't enough to kill the slimes. After throwing some, the slimes multiplied at very high numbers, then he just opened the door to achieve a server crash. I find surprising how Minecraft is doing something similar, ofc it can't crash entire servers with just 2 slimes and infinite growth, yet you can pretty much abuse it in so many ways. I play on mcpe and the game always goes laggy even on overworld, now with that little trick im gonna crash my game for sure.
  • Now you can do "How fast can you crash Minecraft with Slimes?" Speedruns with this!

    1. it should be made with a thick potion 2. rumao have fun balancing mojang

I mean, a simple code fix is to take into account the nearby quantity of slimes upon death / oozing, so when the entity dies it checks how many slimes are nearby (or spawned from oozing potions) and, if there is more than a certain amount, it doesn't spawn any. Similar to how the trial spawners themselves don't spawn more mobs until all of them have been defeated (this time, just till it's below a threshold). I really like these effects and honestly I'd love to see more of them in the game. A couple more for example: • Potion of Warping - has a chance to, upon taking damage, warp an entity anywhere in a small radius around themselves (similar to chorus fruit but smaller) - *brewed with Chorus Fruit* -Potion of Freezing - causes all enemies splashed to suffer the max freezing status effect for an incredibly short time, also turns nearby water source blocks into ice - *brewed with an Ice Block*
