"Practice doesn't make perfect, perfect practice does" - Ethan Becker (I know I'm paraphrasing because my memory is terrible)
  • “Practice makes permanent” you summed up what i always tried to say

Practice makes perfect NO PRACTICE MAKES PROGRESS

To improve my art I try use as many media as I can, I'm to trying to "specialize" only in one media: I use watercolor, colored pencils, ink, graphite, gouache etc..
  • "In drawing, if you lose your motivation you'd never finish it" That's why if you try to draw anything you're not familiar it. Imagine it, and take action. Don't compare your work to other people. Just imagine you're alone and nobody is there.

My realistic drawing improved dramatically when I started tracing photos and comparing them to freehand drawing of the same photos.

How I improve my own way (This might help you too) 1:I draw everyday 2:I search for tutorials/portraits 3:I follow the tutorial they give me 4:sometimes I make techniques

When i read the thumbnail: " never have i been offended to something I 100% agree with "
  • THE BIGGEST REASON IS: watching these videos instead of practicising.

i remember learning about "conscious practice" years ago, where you carefully pay attention to what you are practicing and the intent behind it, and it changed how much my art has progressed. great video <3

I'm a believer in practice makes perfect but... That's also includes experimenting a lot, and trying out different things, not sticking to something if it doesn't work, you need to learn to know what is wrong with a drawing, either through critique or through trial and error. Some people learn better by practicing a lot, others just go off and throw caution (paint) to the wind and eventually end up with something they like 😀

The real reason my art wasn't improving is cz i didn't know basics Drawing have basics Mastering shapes helped me Approach every drawing My advice to you is before U start doing something Make sure u master the basics first
  • I think you are the only teacher who has helped me a lot to improve my art... Hats off to you😊

Yes! It’s so important to make sure to critique your art and examine specific areas you’d like to improve! It also keeps you motivated, like if I’m not please with how a maple tree turns out in my landscape - I’ll draw several landscapes with lots of different types of maple leaves/maple trees until I see an improvement!

Two main factors to improve. 1. Interest 2. Practice If you are interested in any skills then all you need is practice. For example, you won't get six pack abs just by training 1 day. Same is for art, you won't be able to draw good enough if you practice only 1 times. Practicing daily will surely help you improve your Drawing drastically in just one month. And the beauty is that you can see the improvement daily through out your art journey.
