Joe is clearly hurting and in a lot of pain. He's envious of JJ's consistent success and still holding onto a lot of humiliation from being beaten by him a long time ago. He's probably struggling to find his own identity and trying to create his own path but when he attends these kind of events he feels rejected and irrelevant. We can't always be the best or the greatest at something and I think this is what Joe needs to make peace with and accept. We all grow at our own pace but I expect he was overwhelmed and keeps on comparing himself to JJ who is a unique individual and Joe wishes he had what JJ does right now. There was a lot of pain behind all that bravado. Joe wants to be liked at the end of the day and he craves the public's respect and validation as much as he says he doesn't care for it.

It’s so crazy how far JJ has come, I remember back in 2013 watching his skits and playing fifa. Now this guys an international superstar organizing multi million dollar boxing matches and making top chart music. Love him or hate him he’s accomplish so much so early in his career 😮‍💨
