I've compiled a reading list of my favourite history books via the Amazon influencer program. If you do choose to purchase any of these incredible sources of information then Amazon will send me a tiny fraction of the earnings (as long as you do it through the link) (this means more and better content in the future) I'll keep adding to and updating the list as time goes on:-

I should be heading off to the cyclopean lairs of the Mycenaean warrior kings tomorrow. Alas Tiryns of the mighty walls, Mycenae, Pylos will have to wait until this quarantine blows over. No new footage for a while unfortunately folks. Let me know what you'd likes to see covered during this bizarre time. My schedule is completely changed right now with a vast amount of projects (such as Bronze Age Greece) on hold indefinitely. SO let me know some new topics to delve into. Please like and subscribe if you enjoyed the vid as that's how YouTube decides if you've enjoyed it or not, and why not share with a like minded history lover. Cheers guys! Onto the next one...
  • Pete, there is nothing I love more than going to find a quiet spot somewhere, roll a doob, stick my earphones in and settling down with one of your videos. You're by far, one of the best story tellers EVER!!! My history teacher's enthusiasm only spurred on my passion for the past. I think you remind me of him. 👌👌

Pete - when I was a girl (late 50's early 60's), I was totally fascinated by archaeology. I read everything I could find on ancient meso-American, Egyptian, SE Asian, etc civilizations. I should have become an archeaologist, but other interests came along and I took another path. But what fun it is to see the things you bring to life in your videos on ancient civilizations! This particular one - Lost City of the Monkey God - is the most fascinating video ever made by anyone. Thank you!!
  • Interesting 43:52 he is same as Lord Hanuman, may be he was Makaradhwaj Son of Lord Hanuman. It is mentioned in ancient Valmiki Ramayana that makardhwaj lives in a great forest. & Ancient Indian structure forts also built by architecture named as Mayasura.
  • In 1987 I actually tried to find La Ciudad Blanca by taking a boat from Trujillo, Honduras to the Miskito Coast. I figured that "lost city" lay somewhere near the head waters of the Rio Platano and the Rio Paulaya. I was shipwrecked but saved by the Miskito Indians who lived in the village of Platano. I continued along the coastline to Brus Laguna, and then on to Puerto Lempira. I never got near where I thought that "lost city" was, but it was an excellent adventure. I tried again in 1997, traveling to the Rio Sico to get to Dulce Nombre de Culmi. I managed to get to some gold mines and stayed in the jungle in a tiny village with the miners. They wanted me to return the very next year with lots of guns and a few aluminum canoes so that we could explore the region down the Rio Sico and look for that Monkey God. I declined, but sometimes wish I had not. Fun times!

  • I can't begin to tell you how much I appreciate your content Pete. It really is first class. I don't know how you manage to put together such informative and professional content so consistently. You should be very proud, well done again. I'd love to help you in any way i could, alas i don't have any of the required skills other than a passion for history. Keep up the good work.
  • I was born in Honduras on the very edge of la Mosquitia. Surrounded by mayas, lencas, mosquitos indians and Garifuna. Amazed to hear my place of birth described in such exotic terms. Very great full though. Haven't been back in over 40 years. Still must be beautiful. I pray those still there can stay safe from the cartels. I hear they are taking over this little bit of paradise.

Wow... So amazing.. I am 47 yrs old now and I so wish when I was a kid I had the desire to learn about history... I really enjoy it now. I can see the importance of the knowledge... Ancient history like this is so exciting. Thank you for sharing all this cool information. I had heard if one city in the jungle but not two... Im going to look into this more.. 💯♥️👍
  • This was just so interesting to me. I am from Honduras and have for decades wonder what is there in the mosquitia. Thank you so much for a great job. I will be listening to this many times over.
  • @justinw947
Youre amazing. No mispronounced words,no misspellings, no obnoxiously redundant speaking patterns...wonderful.
  • @LaLaLonna
I feel so lucky to have found this channel. How you don't have a million subs already is beyond me but you will get there. The quality of this is amazing. Keep up the amazing work! Thank you.
  • My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed this. You learn something new everyday. I'll be watching more of your videos.
  • Your storytelling is next to none. There is historical content in your videos which you can’t find anywhere else except old historical books Which are long out of print nowadays. I just wanted to say thank you so much for your dedication. I certainly hope that you teach people in some capacity if we had more teachers like you would have more people on the right path. Thank you so much for your time wonderful job

well, I'm so fascinated by heard about another monkey God, then Hanumaan (Monkey God in Hindu religion). if we studied further about Hanumaan, he had a son known as Makar-Dhwaj. and Lod Ram makes him the king of Pataal-Lok, which literally means the "world beneath the feet". And if you look at google earth and dig a straight hole in Uttar Pradesh in India, then it will come out from Honduras's rainforest region and around that area. This is all just my speculations. But it's painful to see such a great civilization lost in time forever.
  • @SatanicDoge
Your content is so much better than anything that makes it on TV. Thank you!!!!
  • @jojomojo508
You need to do one of these on the precolumbian civilization of the Amazon river valley.
  • Really interesting didnt know the city on monkey god was in Honduras! Honduran pride 🇭🇳
  • Definitely worth looking into!! I hope there is more research done on this list world, I would really love to see how far they can uncover much more information!!! This was and is a great documentary!! Thank you!
