In a special episode today, Fred, Ryan and Channing sit down with Maxx Crosby, in a true rendition of what pivoting means and a powerful conversation about growth, evolution and taking the hard steps to make the changes to become who we are destined to be.

Considered one of the best Defensive Ends in the game, Maxx Crosby’s journey to becoming a household name is more than just hard work on the field, it’s the humility and dedication as a man that truly makes his story inspirational.

The guys sit down for a conversation that hits home for all of us as we all have moments in life we aren’t proud of or we try to keep hidden, but releasing the attachments and learning from the dark times is what makes the brighter days so meaningful. Opening up about the tough times of addiction, how it affected his game, his relationships, his family- Maxx takes us through the moments that led to him the life changing pivot and how he’s faced adversity head on and has come out even stronger on the other side. Extremely difficult to imagine and re-live, listening to Maxx’s story gives a new perspective of beating the odds and rooting for the good guy.

Coming up on three years of sobriety in March, Maxx highlights that as a proud moment but becoming a father to his daughter Ella is truly the pivotal moment in his life that has brought everything full circle. Maxx raves about being a girl dad in good company with Ryan, Fred and Channing who all know the feeling and also expresses intimate gratitude to his wife Rachel who has stood by his side through it all.

Despite his addiction, Max performed at a high level on the field which often tricked him into believing he didn’t have a problem. But now with a clear heart, Maxx has taken his ability to another level and shares in the confidence that he can be one do the best to ever play the game at his position. After a difficult season, Maxx talks about all the changes this off-season and what the Raiders need to do to be back in playoff contention this coming year, starting with finding a new QB.

Tune in now to hear Maxx’s thoughts on what the key steps are this off-season for him and his teammates.

  • This episode of The Pivot could have been 4 hours, Maxx Crosby is that interesting and R. C, Fred, and Channing have been magnificent interviewing their guest. May I suggest future guest, Kordell Stewart, Herm Edwards, James Harrison, Lala Ali, Eddie George, Jerome Bettis, Brad Daugherty, just to name a few people who had to pivot their lives. Thank you for all you do, bringing us close to your guest with your intimate interviewing.
  • As a former addict I know just dealing with that alone is hard and non stop work but to add on top defensive end in pro football with it has to be an unbelievable task and that being said I respect and appreciate MAxx for showing the world what you can achieve and accomplish after battling through that.

Its such a beautiful thing to watch someone grow into the amazing human they were meant to be all along, Maxx is a beast on the field but bigger than that this man is a warrior, a true inspiration and it spoke to my soul hearing this dude tell his story. I felt like he was telling my story fr and im nothing close to even an average athlete lol, my date is 1/13/20 , I changed may life after a long long time of blocking my own shine, God got his hands on me and I still cant believe to this day the level of blessed I have become just from making that 1 choice that snowballed into more and more good choices, I just hit 3 years too brother, and my daughter was born 2 days before my 30th birthday last year , its truly amazing, the promises really do come true. Congratulations on everything to Maxx, I always was a fan but after seeing this I feel a much bigger connection than that, I love to see good people kick lifes a$$ and win.
