Watch how different rod movement affects fishing lures. The slightest change in how we move the fishing rod can change the way the lure acts and often we are not aware of what is really happening.

just came across this video today. This thing deserves a million views

Enjoy all your content but this is one of my favorites. Had no idea how fast my lures are moving while I'm thinking that I'm going slow. Thanks Steve!
  • @paulreinbold6670
Finally a video where someone isn't trying to sell me something. Thank you
  • @darkhorsefive0
The underwater footage confirms what I’ve been suspecting. I’m over working my plastic baits, compared to what I want it to do. Thanks for posting this.
  • @johngalt671
This may be one of the most helpful youtube bass videos out there.
  • @aaronhobe7004
Steve., this video is pure Gold! I tripped my catches using #4 and #5…..your video showed me how much I over work my soft plastics. Thank you for all of your great content! 🎣
  • I am absolutely blown away by how much this video will undoubtedly help my success in fishing soft plastics and jigs I've been fishing soft plastics for 40 years and learned more in your <7 minute video than any other video on fishing soft plastics and jigs than my personal experience and all other videos combined Superb Superb indeed Superb content

This video is so so important for not only new anglers, but anglers who don’t spend everyday on the water. I’m sharing this to a lot of people. I will add, do you think it would be possible to do a third angle with a “hat cam” showing what the line looks like coming off your rod into the water? I tend to watch my line quite a bit to get an understanding of what’s going on vs watching my hands. Would be good with a hi vis yellow line or something
  • @Headcrabman9999
Finally, a video that shows this unambiguously instead of just using vague descriptions! Where I'm at, water visibility is always 1 foot or less, so it's hard for me to get an impression of what my soft plastic is doing underwater. Now I know!
  • Amazing info. One thing I always do is play with the lure in front of me and practice how I will fish It. Some of the baits I make are sinking blend and some are floating blend which impart different movement and what not. Very importantto play with the bait and understand the ways of how to fish it before you start bombing it out there. Sometimes it takes that to understand it better because you can have the wrong reel ratio that your using and now you have to compensate because your not running a high speed ratio. Hope that helps. Anyways this man is a legend I go here for tips and tricks and I'm always satisfied.
  • @rgdayo
Wow. This was enlightening. Always hear about fishing slower, but this is a good example of just how slow might be required.

wow! I can't count how many bass fishing vids I've watched. This is the most useful ive ever seen. Im about to go out and practice. thanks!!!
  • @dane.7705
Well, this shows the disconnect between what is happening and what you THINK is happening, and how important slowing down is.😮
  • @wooklim9440
This is amazing synchronization--well done. Appreciate all the painstaking work to present this to your viewers--kudos!
  • @Upgraydez
I could be wrong, but with the camera view, it looks like many people focus on the wrong part of the rod. The end ur holding is only moving a small amount so u think ur just twitching the lure. Look at the tip of the rod to better approximate how far ur lure is moving.
  • @bradr.7249
That was really an eye opener for me. I need to pay attention more to how I am moving my plastics. I have been moving my rod tip way too much. I am enjoying the bass behavior bundle. It was worth the weight. Thanks Steve.
  • @DustyNonya
This is why I've tested a few rigs in a swimming pool where the bait is visible. An old Shakespeare/Zebco push button with a super low gear ratio allows for more mistakes in wind speed than an open bail or baitcaster. I still often like to jig with a short pole pushbutton in little nooks as I have the accuracy of a baitcaster without any of the other issues involved.
