  • The mere that that The Beast is the embodiment of suicidal thoughts IS dark in itself. It causes its victims to lose hope or to exhaust themselves, turns them into trees with distorted faces (like in the Divine Comedy, those who killed themselves are turned into trees, constantly tortured by harpies) so it would feed of their souls. In its song, it claims to be the “light in the tunnel” for the lost, meek souls, and tricks them into making believers that they would find rest and stop their pain once “they submit to the soil of the earth” (a.k.a. If they kill themselves)
  • I love how the darkest moments in OTGW are some of the absolute best moments! It just shows exactly how scary they intended for this amazing series to be!!!

Underrated Halloween classic. Totally one of the best CN shows of the 2010s
  • @pepito2847
Wirt exposing The Beast’s lie about the lantern is easily the best moment of Wirt’s in the series

This Miniseries Was One Of Cartoon Network's Greatest achievements next to Regular Show (2010-2017) wish Long Live The Royals (2015) was this good

Bro, Over the Garden Wall twist came out of fucking nowhere. Two little kids, revealed to be either dead or dying and they are lost in purgatory. Shits creepy.

This list made me more nostalgic than creeped out. Nice to see this show again.

This is truly an amazing show, it’s always a fun watch whenever October rolls around. The cast was amazing and the songs are so catchy. “Patient is the Night” is my personal fav song from the show.
  • They should continue this series for a new generation to enjoyed them as much as I did
  • I remember this miniseries from 9 years ago. I enjoyed watching it so much. It touched my heart, gave me chills, and brought tears to my eyes at the same time.

To make this even darker the ink is most likely the blood of the children turned into trees

This show is so beautiful that it feels like a disney cartoon rather than a CN show.

I remember when this show first came out in 2014, I only watched the part where Wert goes back for Greg, and last year I was going through tough times, and this show got me through it, so every October, typically October 20, I watch 1 episode of it pure day, and I end it on Hallows Eve.
