We bought this 1965 Chevrolet C10 sight unseen! The Truck Tech team begins the teardown process and makes some upgrade decisions for Project Lo ‘n Slo. The '65 C10 Fleetside gets a coilover conversion that will slam her to the ground and a turbo setup on the 292 straight-six. Plus, we protect Mother Nature's patina with a pearl finish. The pickup also gets prepped for a custom interior complete with an easy-install aluminum kit that mimics the original.

damn, these guys are something else. They're specialized mechanics, work on body shop, welders, painters, restorers and tv show personalities. normally you have to bring in a guy for each of these jobs but these guys do it all.

I got the Home Alone joke about the crow bar and Wet Bandits immediately, but it didn't dawn on me til later in the video that the dude actually looks a lot like Daniel Stern.

Why can't the hosts just get along? I can't believe, when I was a kid, this would've been stretched over 10 weeks playing on Sunday from 10am-10:30am so I'd have to be at home and have control of the remote. Insane. There's no way I'd be able to see the entire thing.

The one guy's "southern accent" comes and goes more than my wife's boyfriend.

At least they didn't claim it was "abandoned" like 90% of the other builds on YouTube.

This is the way to show these shows in one complete project package.

Powernation: Here we're working on a full frame off restomod c10 with a crazy powerplant and the best parts possible. Also Powernation: We found a 78 bronco some guy let us have and a 460 we found at the bottom of the lake, we're gonna reuse literally everything including the full 1978 braking system and only replace (most of the) parts that we're legally required to. XD
  • Great show I really appreciated that LT was genuinely upset when it looked like the engine was damaged. It shows that his heart and soul goes into a build. If you get right down to it that’s what this is all about!!!! Thanks guys for a great build keep up with off the beaten path builds👍
  • My Grandfather's '66 GMC V6 longbed has been sitting outside behind the garage as long as I've been alive (& im 32!) But its surprisingly solid & looks damn near identical to this. Im hoping to drag it home in the spring & start restoration!

First time watching something this long on YouTube
  • My dad owned a long bed 65 chevy C-10 with 283 power pack 3 speed in the column. That was the first vehicle I learned to drive on our dirt road farm. It was a tough old truck which we named "Old Blue". We bear hunted, deer hunted, and keep beehives deep in the North Carolina Bays. This truck was even a daily driver to work for my father and served our family well. When I see these trucks it brings back good memories.

You guy are living dream. To have a garage like yours and unlimited budget any mechanics dream.

@ (2:13:18) you can hear the flywheel issue starting to happen when L.T. is giving a pull on the back road and the gears are grinding between shifts, and he didn't even notice it.

I loved the show. Call me weird but I have always loved the inline 6 bangers and wanted to see more done with them performance wise. I wish you would have ran it again after getting the flywheel bolted back up.
  • I maybe leaving a comment 2 years later but man these guys can inspire a man to go out and rebuild cars

When I was watching him put the flywheel bolts in I was wondering about using locktite. I thought back when I was a lot younger, 40 years ago. We didn't use locktite. We just used the term TTT tighter than tight. most of the time using a 1/2" drive ratchet and the breaker bar. The other thing is we didn't use new bolts that often. Even though we cleaned the threads up, There still was some amount of rust left. And I wonder if that helped them stay tight. Now this day and age I would use blue Loctite every time, and torque to spec.

Time for this patina craze to go away.
