Dear Vlad. Thank you so much for your commentary and wise counsel. I went through the “chamber of horrors” today with my MAGA siblings. The horrifying thing is how much damage Trump has caused to both my mental health and to important family relationships. Gentleness is a component of my health as is openness and honesty. Maybe we can build a better future, but for now it’s a time of deep apprehension and fear.

"Please be gentle" is not something you hear a lot in politics or at all. Being gentle means "still interact". Not "don't hit the kid! (get away from him)" but "please be gentle! (keep playing with him)". To use the playground analogy.
