Hello everyone, so I think I have identified the iron object as an old Window Sash Weight, which the people of Filey used to donate to the fishermen to weigh down the lobster pots. π¦

So much fun in the sand at Whitby. We go to Whitby quite regularly, and I never find that much. I do however find more at Runswick beach, next time you're there on holiday, you might want to try there.

Iβm from West Yorkshire and these are the seaside spots I visited as a kid and ever since then. You chose well with the Magpie. Beach hunting is equally fun and frustrating. Good video. Andrew

Filey π. I think the protrusions are possibly old sea defences as the coast is eroding there. I did a quick beach hunt there where you were when we were on holiday there. I found a few spendables including a couple of pounds and a musket ball. Filey is the best π
