ive had this 2000 Terramite T5C Compact Tractor Loader Backhoe for about 19 years, and has served me well until today, the engine has let the parts inside go where they want, and that's not good, let's scrounge around some junk engines and see if we can fix it up.

  • All is well in the world. Mustie1 has resurrected another old motor and this incredible machine lives again.

I've been watching Darren for years now and the one thing that amazes me most is how much of everything he does, he does by himself. Yes, this does show everyone that most things if done safely can be done on your own. I'm much the same way, something about working alone (the camera not withstanding) that lets you work at your own pace in a quiet atmosphere with no distractions. Your own personal ASMR if your will. Thanks Mustie.

On those shaft pulleys, (or yokes) pull the set screw out, fill the hole with 10 wt oil, run the set screw back in fast with an impact. If you try it a few times with several types of lube it will force lube into the pulley center. Heat, rinse repeat

Mustie, the biggest kid in town when let loose on anything with wheels and an engine. Seeing a wild Mustie running through the shrubbery revving and braking to his heart's content brings a happy tear to my eye.

Popping Wheelies! Right on Mustie. Thanks for your videos.
  • “The more you have, the more you gotta take care of” Words of wisdom from Mustie 1 senior ! But how blessed are we that Darren has so much and we get to tag along and learn ! On that note, I hope your mother and father are keeping well. One of my fav vids is you collecting your dads minivan and your mum tells us all how proud she is of you !!
  • Such a relief when you spend all that time scraping knuckles and breaking your back to have a machine thats way better than before. Well done!
  • @RoughOnStuff
As part of the “don’t mess with it, you’ll break it” generation. This is just such a pleasure to watch.

I have learned more about small motors from this guy than anyone. Look forward to mustie uploads every Sunday.

An excellent repair. I really enjoy your approach. When you go diving in to your storage areas for parts it's like a treasure hunt! Keep the great content flowing Darren!

I like the I fix stuff t shirt . You going to do some mustie t shirts please ? Or hats ? I’d buy one
  • I do not often comment on video that I watch, however I will on this one. Mustie I have to say that you approach repairs / troubleshooting the way I was taught. You can tell that your skill set is enhanced by your vast experience, you have a very old school way of approaching problems and I really would like to acknowledge that. Rather than dumping parts at the issue, you get in there and find a way to overcome the problem using logic reasoning and good old fashioned mechanical skill. I have watched your videos for a couple of years now and with your skill set and honest approach I will keep watching you truly are a one of a kind on you tube!! There are no stupid made up words or pretentious fake acting bullshit just honest wrenching with good explanatory reasoning . Keep up the awesome work from one old school mechanic / engineer to the next. A subscriber for life thank you. D

Mustie is the neighbor we all wish we had. At least we get to virtually hang out in his shop every week. It's definitely one of my happy places. Cheers.

"The more you got, the more you have to take care of." Wise words from your father Mustie.
  • Terramies are great little machines. Dug a 16 foot deep well with one of the earlier ones back in 1984-85. Teared down to get that deep. Last 6 feet was through shale. Only had one mishap, blew out the rubber bushing coupler while clean out a wet drainage ditch, ended up changing it right there in the muck. Talk about fun.

Nice work Darren! You never disappoint us with your wit, knowledge and educational style. Thanks for the many years of adventures and here's hoping for many more. Take care!

Mustie, you are the first thing we watch on Sunday after the livestock are tended to. You never fail to come through with great content. Thnks, Bill
  • @Dragineez774
Wow, what would be devastating for me is just an inconvenience for you. Great job.
  • I retired last summer and after open heart surgery recovery I've been feeling well enough to work on stuff. So: buying lawn and garden equipment that's used but OK (and cheap) to fix and either keep or sell. Lots of fun too. Just bought a JD 850 tractor 2 days ago: doing major service cycle on it and no real surprises Yet.....
