There is currently no plan to not have Aang and Katara together. Zutara will not be a thing.

as i understand it there's a fair age difference between katara's actress and zuko's, so i'm hopeful they may go the route of mostly platonic relationships/brief crushes that don't affect the narrative at least (god knows the shipping wars in the og series' fandom were insufferable enough, with REAL KIDS in the firing line i'm terrified to see it repeat)

i heard creative difference with original creators was because original creators wanted to change a bunch which my guess is they were trying to change somethings in the original that could have been better. and netflix wanted it close to the original because they didn't want to take long on production. so they might leave aang and katara as the ship. but i could be wrong all together only time will tell. and i rewatched the last airbender movie trailer and compared it to this one and this one tops that.
